“It was your idea, Kally, of having them be the wardens.” Cassi added with a soft laugh, completely unbothered by the throne of flames and magma she was casually sitting on, sitting forward with her left leg slung over the arm of the throne as she was leaned forward a bit, letting the magma pour over her feet and legs as it poured off the chair’s arms.
“And I’m starting to regret that choice” Kálmán laughed softly before sighing as he rolled his shoulders before giving his cousins a look that they all knew the meaning of as their hands rose up to cover their ears as this…piercing, thunderous roaring sound echoed through the room as he just opened his mouth, it was loud enough and heavy enough to make the entire room rumble and most of the people in front of them had to drop to cover their ears, though Viktoria was entirely unbothered by the sound as she laughed softly as all of the others had to cover their ears.
“Now that I have all of your attention” Kálmán snapped in a tone that made all of the others in front of the warlords freeze in place, Anthony laughed softly at the tone, the two had no children, but they had two dogs, so Anthony knew that parental tone that his husband can take on, the closest they’ve gotten to having kids is babysitting their friends children. “All of you were chosen for various reasons: Rynold, I understand your distain for being around people who are not vegan, however…everyone else around you isn’t. You need to understand that not everyone is like yourself, people are however they are…you cannot change people by force nor can being rude to people make your side any more appealing.” He said, tone strict, cold and parental. “Rynold…apologize to Viktoria for insulting her, Viktoria apologize for being rude.” He said
“Why should I?” Rynold asked only to feel this wash of electricity rush over them as the prince’s eyes flashed yellow and the very air around him seemed to distort. Rynold sucked their teeth as they crossed their arms heavily, looking off before sneering towards Viktoria, “Sorry.” They dryly said only for Viktoria to blow a raspberry towards Rynold, who in response went to lunge towards Viktoria before this…wall of ice shot up and between the two.
“Now, now” Anthony said, heels clicking on the stone floor, flicking his hand as the ice wall fell away, “Viktoria, that wasn’t very hospitable, was it?”
“I hunt alone” she said, voice dead-pan making her accent thicker and rougher. “People being around me makes it far more difficult to hunt down my quarries, spooking my prey will only make it run then its hide and materials will be damage.” She added as the huge bottom half of her coat moved back as she brushed a hand back showing a very large quiver strapped to the outside of her thigh, filled with dozens upon dozens of thick peppermint rods, about an inch wide and over a foot long as she took one of them out, the front of it elongated into a needle like point as she just turned it in hand and roughly bit the back of it, the crunch of the candy cane loud enough to make someone flinch at the sound, thinking it was her teeth breaking and not the sugar, frost and fog passed her teeth as she crunched through the thick sugar.
“Is there anyone here that you think you would much rather prefer to spend your time hunting with?” Anthony asked, she shrugged before nodding towards Gabriel and motioning towards Zahra.
“Those two, Zahra as a nightmare, is naturally…very, very stealthy and from what my father has told me about her father, she’s been trained well in the ability to fight and handle various weaponry…and Gabriel as the candy prince, he knows necromancy and ways to…capture prey.” She said with a tactical tone and studied expression as her eyes flicked across them, “Pavan, maybe, he’s a hunter too, a scout more so by the weaponry he’s holding, knowing his mother’s land…probably more of a protector of the various creatures there which is…a little disappointing to me, but…I can work around that.” She added before taking another bite of her crossbow bolt. “I know Isaiah uses a gun based on the fact I can see it, rifles are far more long range than Advent, Caesar I know uses a good amount of support magic…Alghu however…she’s the weird one of the group, I don’t know her that well, my father’s not spoken to her mother in a while so I’ve not heard any stories or whispers about the snow, once the process of sending people’s dreams to the wish-list sector of the workshop, they’ve not needed to talk a lot.” She went on, twirling the peppermint bolt between her fingers as frost collected in the air in front of her mouth as she spoke from speaking around the shards of enchanted peppermint, looking at the others around her as if she was scouting soldiers and not teammates or people to work alongside her, it was more of a…commanding and focused tone to her voice telling everyone she was looking at them as soldiers and not compatriots.
