Back in New York City, Charlie had just entered his workplace. The first thing he did when he was there was that he went up to his supervisor, Sandy, who had a look of scorn.
‘OK’ he began, after taking a deep breath ‘This is something I’ve been thinking about for a while, and it brings me deep regret to tell you this’
‘Well, what is it?’ she groaned ‘You have a lot of work to do’
‘I… I want to resign from my job. I don’t want to work here anymore’ the supervisor got out of her chair and glared at him.
‘What?! What did you say?! You want to resign?’
‘Yes’ a tear was rolling down his face ‘I’m sorry, Sandy’ Sandy let out a deep sigh.
‘Well, there ain’t shit I can do about that. Send me an email as soon as you get to your desk’ she walked over and started whispering to him ‘To be honest with ya, I want to quit, too. I hate this place. The bosses are all assholes and the company doesn’t give a rat’s shit about its customers’ she sighed again ‘I respect you, Charlie. You made a very brave decision’ a smile returned to Charlie’s face.
‘Thank you’ he then went over to his desk. Up until lunch-time he simply partook in his regular duties, not mentioning anything about his decision to any of his colleagues.
