At midnight the forgotten sword woke him up. For some unknown reason it could talk, and would emit a faint light everytime it spoke. Fortunately, He was too sleepy to argue.
"I'm not in the mood for hallucinations, go bother someone else." He waved off her calls.
"I wouldn't prattle with a sloth if the others could hearken me, imbecile."
"Then shut up." He got up,then hoisted it from the ground.
"I'm the grand sorceress Hilda, do not dictate my conduct!"
"Right, right." He shoved it in a clutter of disintegrating antiquities.
"I'll unfold the price to unleash this sword's power in exchange could you do a display of magnanimity-"
"Mag what?" He yawned.
"Get me out of here, this pile of waste has a nauseating odor!"
"Hamza is passionate about collecting, sadly he passionately forgets to clean as well." He picked up the sword.
"Men, always remiss." Replied outraged.
Kyro cleaned his throat to recoup the previous topic. Carrying out her covenant, the witch enunciated the procedure.
"Obliterate the ones most precious to you and their blood will liberate the seal."
"Goodnight." He flinged it back there, returning to his provisory bed.
"Without its power is a regular blade! It's useless as you said yourself!"
"It can cut onions." He tucked himself in the blankets.
"I didn't forfeit my body to prevent this sword from falling in the wrong hands so some idiot could use it as a cooking utensil!"
"Much to your chagrin." He closed his eyes, disregarding her complaints.
"You passed on the character test. If you had murdered them, the seal would strengthen."
The sorceress awaited a reply for one, two, three…. Thirty minutes in total.
"Why aren't you answering? Are you listening?!"
His loud snoring denounced him, infuriated she started monologuing to disturb his slumber.
In the past, when their enemy was reduced to a baby hanlin, the heroes paid it no mind. Without a mother it would die on its own. Power got over their heads, they viewed themselves as gods who saved humanity demanding to be treated accordingly... They started fighting between themselves to define a supreme leader. A bloodbath started, the magical swords and its wielders were shattered once confronted with another.
The survivor of that savagery was a hero that couldn't care less about being high and mighty, he just wished to return home. Hilda stole the remaining sword, sealing it with her soul. The evil wasn't in the object, used correctly it could help many.
She didn't apprise him sooner because it would be pointless to say all that to a guy who made a legendary sword look like a butter knife.
"You're worthy of owning Ghazi, make good usage of it."
Shining spheres emanated from the artifact, Hilda's soul detached from it, unleashing the hundred year old seal. Forthwith, Ghazi was at its full potential.
"Yeah, Yeah. Tomorrow." The fox murmured, going back to sleep.
This year,Jiya was chosen to be Hanlin's bride,in other words,a sacrifice. After killing the man-eating monster, she makes a deal with a little fox.
When he gets her out of that forest she would return the amulet that the beast stole from him. But would a human and a fox ,the weakest creatures in that damned forest, be able to survive that perilous journey?
