Lastly, far from the Australian outback and now, in the middle of the jungles of the Congo, the thick mist that grew up to one’s eyeline and so thick that not even the brightest of fog light would be able to dissipate it, the forest seemed to…melt away till one found themselves standing at the base of an absolutely massive mountain: pale gray stone in a featureless pillar upwards, just roots as thick as subway cars cracking and crawling through the stone, thick vines with blooms large enough for a person to curl up in their centers spotting the mountain face. At its apex, there was no point…but a massive lake and at the center of that lake was a baobab tree nearly two hundred or so feet thick, an entire castle carved and shaped into its trunk as the canopy outstretched so far that the vines off the edges of the boughs hung past the lip of the lake. Lily pads ten or so feet wide adorned the surface of the lake with blooms so large people could sit inside of them peacefully, fish and creatures long sense their existence was known about swam about the lake, ones long sense extinct to the nonmagical world, other creatures who were long sense extinct milled about the grounds of the lake. The lake was close to maybe half a mile wide, the massive tree small in comparison to the menagerie around it. Flocks of colorful birds filling the boughs, schools of mismatched fish swimming about and creatures of all other types walking about the massive island and swimming about the expansive lake.
A very tall and very beautiful, statuesque woman stood out on a huge bough, the branch moving as she walked so her footfalls were never uneven or off balance, extremely rich and deep toned skin with black hair worn back in tight braids that trailed down her back adorned with flowers, charms, moss and beads of clay, rock, wood and raw metal, moss collected along her temples and about her figure where flowers seemed to grow forth from her flesh, glowing orange eyes surrounded by flower petals in place of lashes, ferns in place of brows and soft, full features in a kind, motherly look as she walked ahead, swathed in wrapped moss, leaves and vines, huge cloak of leaves and flowers trailing behind her, barefoot with bangles around her wrists and ankles as she walked, bundles of bark forming cuffs around her wrists and shins as she walked, flowers blooming as she lifted her feet, vines reaching out to softly brush against her as she looked towards the canopy above her, softly wafting her arm out as a bundle of birds instantly fluttered down to perch on her as she let her fingers trail through vines and along the smooth bark of the branches around her. A smaller bird fluttered down as it held something out towards her, a large envelope.
“Oh, what’s this?” she asked, taking the letter as the birds fluttered off, “For them, I see. Well, that seal is a little troubling, but…they know what they are doing” she said in a kind, soft voice, the large branch she walked upon slowly lowering before her feet met the glassy surface of the lake, the water not being disturbed by her feet beyond the smallest of ripples echoing out as she walked across the surface. “The others must have also been contacted, this group…they do not do things solo often, they almost always act as a group, it’s so…comforting to know that even beings as destructive and as dangerous as the warlords can be civil and act like actual people and not the dangerous archdemons whom sired them” she said with a soft laugh as her bare feet met the soft sod bank of the large island the tree grew from as she walked towards the tree. The soft sound of music audible on the air as wind rippled and moved through the woven branches and sections of the tree’s massive network of trunk, “It’ll also be nice to know that they’ll be around alike people, the others are so…reclusive, though they only ever leave on their various holidays, it’ll be nice to see them again, it’s been so…so very long.” She added as she just walked through the doorless archway into the home. A soft skip on her gait as she walked, a soft hum on her voice as she twirled and magic fluttered through the tree pushing it to grow a bit further and leaves to sprawl out and grow around her. The letter in hand had what looked like a bitemark taken off of the corner, a wide orange ribbon wrapped around it and sealed with a thick wax seal adorned with a curved shark upon it.
