The next few minutes are a blur for Laia when she has pulled away
from the lounge by Hao who is questioning her, not being able to
focus on anything other than the blinding rage directed at the
man.
Laia was tense as she was led with her group to
a room everything was tuned out her just focusing on Him. Her mind
was swirling as she thought of ways to kill the man that hurt, that
woman Wolf, is what they called her but she wanted to know her actual
name. She had to know she had t-
“Laia…”
A
wave of calm flowed through her as Azia perches on her
shoulder.
“Your emotions are at an all-time high
you need to take a breath and relax focus on my voice.”
She
did what she was told and took a deep breath.
Her vision
comes back to her as she had been glaring at the man, Hao who had
been confused by her behavior stood next to her. Jamire who tried to
get multiple times to get her attention to calm her down sat with a
worried expression on his face.
Lemga sits in a
large chair at the front of the long meeting table smirking. He has
been observing this girl since he felt the spike of blood lust
directed at him. It has been a long time since he has seen a person
emit so much anger at him, he has to admit it’s refreshing.
“That
is a lot of murderous intent Little Bird it’s getting a little
scary.”
He shifts his attention to the golden bird that
appeared bird that appeared on her shoulder.
“Ah, so you
have been chosen as well then?”
She takes another deep
breath to continue to get her bearings before glaring down at the
older man but her curiosity makes her speak.
“Chosen?”
Showing
an irritating grin ignoring everyone else in the room his focus on
her, standing abruptly he waves his arms in a grand gesture.
“Yes!
Only people that are chosen by the Gods can have an Emotia!”
He
points down at her right hand.
“And It seems you gave
some of that power to another.”
She moves her hand to
see what he meant realizing that her hand has a Golden Wolf Tattoo
that is warm on her skin. She grazes her fingers upon it studying it,
she didn't have this before.
“I didn't think one of my
guests would find themselves attached to someone from the Old World.
That’s probably why you want to murder me right since I hurt
Wolf?”
“I...”
He cuts her off full of
himself.
“Don’t worry I already knew the answer, now
the real question is does your Emotia calm you down, or does it feed
into your anger?”
Laia glares at him, Azia sends another
wave of calm over her she smiles gratefully for her friend’s
ability.
“You should know the answer since I didn't
attack you.”
He laughs heartily.
“Good
point but it is funny to know that Wolf has someone from the New
World so protective of her.”
He turns back to Hao who
calmly watched the exchange just in case anything got out of
hand.
“Since my curiosity has been sated I think we
should go back to the business at hand.”
Legma pulls out
a map and spreads it on the table in front of the group.
“Now
the Monster is called Neja he has been spreading the mist far in this
area but he only seems to attack close to the New World and the
Hughu.”
He points between the New World border and moves
his hand down to a circle on the map.
“We are a few
miles from where the mist is denseness that’s most likely where
your target is.”
Hao nods in understanding.
“Do
you know exactly what the creature looks like?”
“From
reports, it crawls on all fours and has a lizard body with a
bullhead.”
“Hmm if you called upon us to fight the
creature it must have been reeking a lot of havoc. We will kill this
beast for you post haste.”
“There is a problem though
our carriages got attacked so it has been destroyed so we don't have
a good way to travel.
“So that’s why my escorts didn't
show up with you, I have an idea that will be fun.”
He
focuses on Laia who just glares back at him.
“I know a
Young Wolf that doesn't live far from here and she even has a
carriage to take you on your mission but since you need another I can
provide that.”
Laia frowns skeptically of his
claim.
“But why would she even want to help us don't
they attack outsiders?
“Yes but you Little Bird has a
connection to Wolf on your right hand.”
The warmth of
her right hand makes her glance at it.
“How can you be
so sure?”
He lifts his sleeve and shows a pig
tattoo.
“Because I was also chosen. Now I will let you
discuss this with Wolf because I’m pretty sure you don’t want me
anywhere near her right now. I will like to keep my head.”
He
leaves the room as Laia unconsciously grabs the hilt of her sword.
