Tallius’ point of view
What a weird guy. My phone begins ringing, it’s Kiyoshi.
“Hello?” I pick up.
All I can hear is sniffling and crying noises.
“Kiyoshi?” I speak up.
“Tallius.. I made a mistake.” Kiyoshi cries.
“What now?” I sigh.
“Zekuu is a jerk. I hate him. He gave me coupons from a love hotel.” He cries.
“Okay, spare me the details. I don’t want to know. Are you okay? Why are you crying?” I question.
“He’s a jerk and we got into a fight.. We broke up!” He shouts.
“Ah, okay…” I answer.
“What’s with that reaction?” He questions me.
“It’s just this happens every few weeks with you two, I don’t know what to say anymore.” I laugh.
“Huh? Well I thought he was different, he has been more mature lately..” He cries.
“He never changes. I’m gonna go now, I’m getting our food.” I hang up.
I walk into the clinic and request Dr. Barwick.
Dr. Barwick walks out and takes me back to the storage room, “take what you want.”
The storage room is full of bottles, these drinks are my food. Vampires like Zekuu drink blood for food. Shifters eat whatever animal they shift into’s diet. Incubus eat, sexual energy. Most demons can drink blood for food, but it isn’t healthy. Barwick is studying different combinations and ingredients as a meal replacements for different types of demons.
Incubus who have not yet gone through the change, like me, do not depend on sexual energy. Instead they depend on blood, preferably virgin blood. Barwick has made a drink that has been successfully working on my body the same way virgin blood works on me.
I select a few different flavors and head on out, “Thanks, as always.”
“No problem, you helped me test my products afterall.” Barwick smiles, “how is Oran?”
The name sends shivers down my spine, “A-Ah…Umm…”
“You found out?” Barwick shuts the door.
“Yes, but I wont tell anyone. Kiyoshi wont either of course.” I panic.
Barwick sighs heavily, “How am I supposed to trust the Black King’s son. Your family is responsible for millions of deaths of mix breeds. I know you and Kiyoshi are different than the others, but I am still weary. His father trusted me, I was his best friend. I have to protect his son.” Barwick explains.
“So what? Are you going to kill me and Kiyoshi now that we know?” I question.
“I can’t do that either… I don’t want anyone to die.” Barwick answers.
“Then leave us be, trust us. I have no interest in getting some random kid and his family killed. In fact if you spare Kiyoshi and I, we will vow to protect him. Deal?”
“That’s… risky. But I guess I have no choice. This could get us all killed, but morally I want to protect Oran and let you and Kiyoshi continue your lives as normal.” Barwick mutters.
“It’s not like this is the first time I have broken demonic law, this is no big deal.” I sigh.
“Deal. But we must set some rules and boundaries.
First, do not tell anyone. Second, do not tell Oran. Third, do not leave him
alone for long periods of time. Fourth, report to me. And Fifth, make sure he
is well taken care of. Easy enough?” Barwick says.
“You know I don’t follow rules well, but I’ll follow these since my life truly relies on them.” I smirk.
“If you break any rules, I will know.” Barwick says flicking me in the forehead.
“Okay, okay. It was a joke, relax. Not a hair on his head will be touched by evil, I will protect him with my life.” I smile.
“Sure. Go now, you’ve been back here too long, the nurses will get suspicious.” Barwick rushes me out.
I say bye with my arms full of bottles. I pass by a vending machine, one with cups of rice and vegetables. He can eat this, right? I buy one and carry it back to the dorm building. I open the door, Sparky is on his bed on his laptop and Oran is studying a textbook.
“Have you ate yet Oran?” I ask.
“No, I was going to wait for dinner.” He answers.
“I got you some rice, I thought I wanted it but I changed my mind.” I hand him the cup.
“A-Ah… Thank you!” he smiles.
I put my bottles in my closet and leave one out for dinner.
“You didn’t bring me anything?” Sparky pouts.
“I figured you already ate with friends.” I answer, opening the bottle.
“You’re right but still!” he whines.
