Walking past someone’s front yard, Character A made it down to the teeny tiny town. The place felt deserted but they noticed some commotion going on in a couple of houses. Heard a few dogs barking and saw a cat run by. So it wasn’t completely empty, but felt eerily similar.
Walking through the neighborhood, A knew where they were headed. Straight walk through two blocks then turn left and they would end up at a convenience store. They could find information about the place there or just sit idly around and listen in on conversations. Whichever was faster.
As A continued to walk they noticed that not many people were out and about. Everyone seemed to stay inside, however there were a few kids outside playing. They stopped when A walked by, they stood there staring. Character A paused and stared back at them until the kids ran inside, shouting for their mom.
A sniffed and noticed they smelled terrible. The long sleeve and black pants were dirty and ragged. Cringing at their appeal, A decided to make a quick stop. Walking out of the neighborhood with the children, A decided to take the next left instead of walking straight(haha lol not me).
Observing the houses as they walked, A was scanning for one with the lesser amount of activity. Ultimately coming to a stop at a single story house. Character A didn’t pay attention to any of the detail, none of it was useful anyways - except maybe for the fact this person had horrible taste in houses - the no activity of the house was what A was looking for.
Checking the rest of the area, there was no one else around nor annoyingly being nosy and watching from behind their curtains. Walking up to the - disgusting - house A peeked into the windows to make sure their assumption was correct. Before walking to the side of the house and checking all the windows and the back door. There were no security cameras anywhere, not that anything had real value inside.
Hearing a click sound as the backdoor opened, Character A stepped inside. The place seemed smaller on the outside but was spacious(this is a word?) on the inside. They entered the living room, being able to see the hallway down to the bedrooms on the right and the connected kitchen. There were a few extra doors on the sides but A figured they were just a bathroom and a closet door.
Quietly walking around A checked all of the rooms to make sure no one was in there. There was no one at home, like they predicted so A went back into one of the guest bedrooms and started rummaging through the drawers.
The People didn’t care about what happened along the way to killing the target as long as no one else but the target got hurt. Self-defense didn’t count, it had to be on purpose. So breaking and entering someone else’s house is acceptable(is it really though?)
Going through the drawers Character A pulled out a fresh pair of pants that actually have pockets in them, a pair of socks, t-shirt and found a pair of shoes. Finding everything that they needed, A reorganized everything to make it look like nothing was missing.
Leaving the bedroom and going into the bathroom across the way, A took a quick shower. Mostly scrubbing themselves clean of all the dirt and muck. However when A ran their hand over the bite, it sent a pang down their back. Gritting their teeth, breathing in and out. The pain slowly eased up. A had no idea what it was about but assumed that the bite was just sore. Not knowing that it let Dimwit know where they were but also that it hurt Dimwit a little too.
Rinsing off the soap, turning off the water and stepping out of the shower. They dried off and put the clothes on. Finding that the clothes fit them perfectly, not being too tight or too big. The shoes however were a size too big. If they went to get a different pair then the homeowner would definitely know someone had come into the house.
Checking over everything, Character A made sure everything was the way it was supposed to be before leaving out the back door again.
