Preston's POV
When Adrien opened the door to his room I stepped inside, briefly glancing around. The dorm room definitely screamed Adrien, with his art supplies scattered in one corner of his room, with art pieces and fairy lights hung up on the bare white walls. The rest of his room was neat and tidy except for his art corner—he could never be clean with his art stuff. A pure artist at heart and it made me smile.
"Nice room," I said, turning around to face him as he stepped in and closed the door behind us.
Adrien laughed, "It's a bit of a mess, but thanks."
"A mess? Come on, it's not even a mess. Maybe your art stuff is but that's normal," I chuckled. Adrien hummed. He shrugged his shoulders, before walking over to his bed, and falling until his back hit the mattress.
"That's true. If anything, your dorm room is probably messier than mine is."
"Yeah, it definitely is," I laughed. I watched as Adrien placed his arms behind his head as he laid on his bed, and stared up at the ceiling.
Silence fell for a few moments before I walked over, gesturing for him to scoot over on his tiny twin bed. When he did, I moved down on the bed next to him. I could definitely fall off the bed by the little room the bed left us, but I didn't care that much.
"You were right about what you said earlier," I said softly, breaking the silence, "it is really weird to have you standing next to me in person. Really does feel like I'm dreaming."
"And I hate that it feels that way," Adrien said. When I turned to look at him, he was still staring at the ceiling, a slight frown on his face, "I'm really enjoying my time in art school. It's what I've always wanted, but at the same time, I hate that I'm far away from you and that I barely get to see you. It sucks."
"Yeah, it does suck."
Adrien turned his head to look at me. We stared at each other, and I nearly got lost in those green irises, "I wish I could see you more."
"Me too," I said, reaching over to brush a strand of hair away from his forehead, "but I'll try to visit with whatever free time I have."
"Hmmm, good. You better."
"Oh, you know I will."
Adrien smiled softly, "I know."
***
The rain died down to a slight spit by the time the four of us headed out to the movie theatre later that night. When we got to the theatre, we bought tickets for a superhero movie, got ourselves some popcorn and snacks, and found seats at the back of the theatre.
The duration of the movie, Adrien would reach over and steal a couple of my starbursts, to which I replied to him go get your own. But obviously, he didn't listen and kept stealing them, and I let him anyway.
Meanwhile, Karsten and Flores were sitting to the right of Adrien, Karsten with his head rested on Flores's shoulder, their hands tangled together as they watched the movie.
For a moment, it brought me back to the movie date Adrien and I had a while back. We had gone to see a romance movie because those were Adrien's favourite films to see. Of course, I had paid more attention to Adrien than the film, because how could I not? He had looked exceptionally beautiful that night, and with our hands tangled together, the warmth of his hand against mine, it was just a wonderful memory. Just thinking about it made my heart race.
But I should stop thinking about it. I would only hurt myself in the end. I should forget how warm his hand was against mine, how good he looked when I fucked him in the car after we got home from our date. I should forget about it all.
When the movie was over, the four of us headed to a nearby restaurant to hang out and eat dinner. The hostess there found us a seat in the middle of the restaurant, and the four of us sat down. Adrien and I sat on one side of the table with Karsten and Flores on the other side.
"Ugh, I ate a large bag of popcorn during the movie and yet I'm starving. All the options on the menu look so good too, I can't choose," Karsten groaned, laying his head down on his open menu. He sat there with his head on the table before he turned to look up at Flores, who was also flipping through the menu, "what are you going to get?"
Flores shrugged, "I don't know, honestly. But the ribs sound good."
"Mm...so do the chicken wings," I hummed, "I might get those and some onion rings."
"A wise choice," Flores chuckled.
Eventually, we ordered our drinks and food, and twenty minutes later, the waitress was setting our food down in front of us.
Flores got the ribs with a side of sweet potato fries, and Karsten had ordered the same thing because otherwise he would have spent too long choosing. I got my honey garlic wings with onion rings, and Adrien got his penne pasta with tomato sauce and garlic bread, as always. The pasta was his go-to at a restaurant.
Overall, dinner was a blast. The four of us spent the time talking and laughing about whatever, and by the time we got back to Karsten and Adrien's dorm, I was thoroughly satisfied with our night out. I really enjoyed spending the day with Adrien, and our two roommates. I didn't want the night to be over.
But alas, good things come to an end, as they always do.
"What are your plans for tomorrow?" I moved to sit down on the bed, watching as Adrien stepped into his dorm room, now dressed in pj shorts and an oversized t-shirt. He closed the door behind himself and walked over to his laundry hamper where he tossed away his clothes.
"I don't know yet. Probably work on the art projects I have due soon," He replied, shrugging. He glanced up at me and smiled, "what about you?"
"Schoolwork too, probably," I chuckled, leaning back on the bed, laying my back against the wall. I had changed out of my clothes and into a pair of sweats, leaving myself shirtless as it was kind of warm in his dorm.
Adrien hummed. He walked over to the bed and crawled over me so that he could sit down on the other side of the bed next to me. He laid down on his side, perching his head on his hand with his elbow to his pillow.
"Have you talked to Phoebe and the others as of late?" Adrien asked. I raised a brow at him.
"I talked to Joseph and Daniel a few days ago. Why?"
Adrien shrugged, releasing a heavy sigh, "no reason. I just miss them. I talk to Asher and the girls at least once a week but it's just not the same as talking to them in person. I also miss my mom and my cats. Guess I'm just feeling a bit homesick."
I smiled softly at him. I reached down and gently ran my fingers through his hair, brushing the strands out of his face, "Christmas break will be here in no time, don't worry. We'll get to be home soon enough. But I miss them too. I miss my dad and Kodey."
"Yeah...you're right," Adrien nodded, "it's already October, after all." He let out a yawn right after, covering his mouth with his hand.
I chuckled, "go to sleep, sleepyhead."
Adrien stuck his tongue out at me, but he laid his head down on the pillow anyway, pulling the covers over himself.
"Night, Preston."
I smiled, "night, Adrien."
