—Olivia. —I opened my eyes wide when I heard my father's voice.
—Dad? Is it really you? —I asked in shock as I sat up in bed and looked toward the door. That's right, my daughter. —He answered, causing my eyes to glaze over. —I managed to neutralize that demon, but I don't think he'll be stunned for long. You have to leave now. —he explained, leaving me surprised.
Without thinking twice I got out of bed and went to the door of my room ready to open it, however, when my fingers just brushed the doorknob, his dirty words came into my head.
Luckily he is no longer here thanks to me.
—Stop acting, you said it yourself, you killed him. —I mumbled crying as I began to feel the pain.
—You really have a good memory Olivia. —The demon behind the door praised me as I slid down the door until I was sitting on the floor.
—How many of us are left? —I asked, hoping that there was still someone out there who might, and just might, rescue me.
—You're the only one in your class. —he answered with a little laugh. —But soon my dear, when you least expect it I will catch you, your humanity will be nothing more than a silly dream that you will forget. —he affirmed, leaving me completely overwhelmed.
There was a great fear in my heart at the thought that the only thing separating me from that horrendous being was that simple mahogany door and the thirty I had to "get out" of my room.
