Just thinking about what's about to come next after he found out my weakness made me shiver down to the bone. This isn't really going well, the worst case scenario is that he's one of the people behind the explosion and that what he's showing in front of me is all but a facade.
Anyway, the 'voice' has been really quiet for some time now. Did they finally reach the conclusion that I'm useless and abandoned me?! I gasped at the thought.
"What's wrong? You became really quiet." Oreus asked and tilted his head at the right side. "That... How did you know? Are you also after me?" It took a lot of courage to ask him that straightforward question without stuttering. I mean, if he says 'yes' then that would be the end of me.
"Ohhh, you're talking about Astral? I didn't mean to pry but usually, when I heal my clients there would be some reaction from my Astral and theirs which makes it a bit challenging for me to cure them." He explained while leaving some details. "So... Are you a bad guy?" Oreus made a surprised face before chuckling at my question. Almost as if he never expected that he would be one day asked a question like that.
"You're a very fascinating person, dear client. This is probably why— never mind!" No, what the hell is wrong with this doctor, finish your sentence! Don't you know that cliffhanger is a crime?!
Oreus snapped his fingers, as if he suddenly remembered something and went to the corner of the room. He pulled a really big trolley bag, bigger than the average trolley that I see at the airport. "I almost forgot, here." He handed me the huge red luggage with a smile plastered on his lips. "What's this for?" "Hmmm... I don't know, girl stuff?" You've got to be kidding me. Why would you hand me something that you don't know the contents of?!
"Anyway, you ought to change now so you won't look like you breached a mental hospital. That person told me that all you need is in there." Oreus explained while pointing at the luggage. Are you sure that what's inside is necessary stuff and not a big snake that will gobble me up? Besides, where did this bag even come from? I'm pretty sure that this room is empty to the bones.
"There's no living creature inside, don't worry." He reassured me. Thanks, because if I die here I will haunt you for the rest of my ghost days. "Who are you talking about when you mentioned 'that person'?" "Now, now, enough questions or you will miss the Golden Gates when it opens." Oreus! Stop changing the topic, you unfairly pretty doctor!
He gently pushed me out of the door of the antique shop in a blink of an eye. "Wait! Oreus! What Golden Gate are you talking about?!" I yelled and looked back. He was now leaning in the door frame. I don't wanna admit it but he looked so picturesque from that angle. "Bye dearest client~ I sure hope that we don't meet again because that will mean you're severely hurt. Have fun~" He mused before closing the old door.
His words resounded within me. To not meet again because it would be a bloody reunion instead of a happy one. Now, just what are these Golden Gates that he's been talking about.
[The Golden Gates will close in two hours. Hurry, Venaira.]
