"We can make a plan, but it can't be set in stone. We have know idea what Cayden has to throw at us. The best we can do is protect each other and ourselves, and be ready for a fight. He has more power than we do, but we have Mykle. If we can't fully bring him down, we can at least weaken him. We have a chance." I explained.
"So what can Mykle do?" Ryan asked. It seemed Ryan now believed in the royal family's power.
"A lot. I don't even know of a limit." I told him. Mykle has unlimited power. The legends say that the people who once held such power could harm a being to the point that the being may not be able to recover. Mykle's power goes beyond that - they may be able to kill an entire army in a blink.
Reaching Power
Cayden took a week. In that time, I trained Mykle hard. I trained everyone hard. I trained myself hard. Aimi learnt to shoot, and her skills in that area were incredible. For someone who at the start of the week had never held a gun, she was shooting better than some soldiers by the end of the time. Ryan's combatant skills had not dulled since the last time I'd seen him. When growing up, Ryan won multiple martial arts competitions and became the best in the county. Unfprtunately, not best in the country. After losing to the country's best, Ryan combat went on strike. Until now, when it's needed. I stayed myself. I've always been the one good with the spy-like reflexes and secret agent skills. Darkness is my best friend - give me no light and I'll sneak around you in silence. I won't be seen coming - I hope. Cayden may know how good Ryan and I are. He may be expecting our skills.
Mykle learnt control. They learnt to release power from more emotions than just anger. By the end of the time, I could be sure that Mykle would be able to confidently fight. Whether they would be able to kill an army in an instant, I couldn't be sure if that would be possible. At least I could be sure that they would be able to protect themself.
"Are you sure you're ready for this?" I asked him the night before the fight (I did not know that was the night before the fight then).
"Yes." he instantly replied.
"OK. Good luck then, when the time comes."
Begin the fight
Although we knew he would be coming sometime soon, we were not expecting for Cayden to arrive at a time so late. It was midnight on the dot. I wasn't sure how the neighbouring people hadn't noticed that there was a small army by the house. Cayden had come in person this time - I could see his blond firgure from the window I had jumped up to. He smashed down the door, scaring me to move from the window, and disturbing Mykle. This fight was going to be a difficult one. The enemy was in slightly protective gear, and we were in pyjamas. Cayden couldn't have chosen a worse time.
"What do you want Cayden?" Mykle asked, loudly, their voice cracking from their tiredness.
"I want peace." Liar.
"No you don't." Ryan shouted, angry.
"OK, you caught me in a lie there, but I do want this handover to be peaceful. Hand me Mykle and I won't bother your family, Ryan." Oh, well he'd be failing that. Taking my friend would bother me.
"Taking my friend bothers me, Cayden!" I yelled. People were beginning to gather round the outskirts of the house - spectators. They needed to get out the way, but I know they wouldn't listen.
"Well then, seems that this handover won't be peaceful. Seems that this next move will be ineveitble. Sorry, and... not sorry. FIRE AWAY!" The gunshots echoed. The watchers screamed, but we were fine. Mykle had stopped the bullets, causing them to harmlessly fall to the floor. Police officers were beginning to arrive, but it would be dangerous for them to intervene. We were all grateful that Mykle noticed this a placed a forcefeild around the house. The officers would not find their way through.
Above me were heilicopters - the news, already filming our every move. We had not gone unnoticed.
Cayden's small army fired again, and Cayden himself began to move towards Mykle. Yet again, Mykle protected us from the bullets. I went to take Cayden down. In truth, this fight was not between him and Mykle - it was between Cayden and I, over Mykle.
"You can't take them, Cayden. You'll only abuse their power!" I screamed at him, tackling him down.
"James, you are weak. You always have been, and always will be. You cannot stop me. You do not even hold a weapon." One truth, three lies. I'm not weak, never have been, never will be, and I am able to stop him. Yes, I am unarmed. Cayden stumbles to his feet. I kick him back down. In the time he is down, I disappear into the darkness and pick up a rock. The rock is the size of my fist. I hurl it at his stomach and he recoils in pain.
I leave Cayden on the floor in the pain I inflicted, and go to aid Aimi take down soldiers.
I can see Mykle - he is helping Ryan. The number of Cayden's soldiers dwindle quickly, to our advantage.
The fight roared on. I became oblivious to eveything but the enemies in my eyeline. I forgot that'd I'd left Cayden on the floor. He would have returned to upright position now. He'd probably have his gun at now.
Infact, he did have his gun out now.
And he pulls the trigger...
Now.
And I fall.
And I continue to fall.
And I bleed.
And continue to bleed.
And I scream.
I cry.
It continues.
I collapse to the floor. The world begins to turns black. Shadows creep over my eyes. Mykle I shouting. Aimi is screaming. Ryan is yelling.
"May you die, brother." Cayden says.
A large burst of light breaks out before my vision fades.
Mykle has no family and no heritage. They have only their name. After the death of the royal family, Mykle is shocked at what happens. A strange mark on their arm. A mark that only appears on the wrist of the King/Queen's child's after the King/Queen dies. So why the hell is the mark on Mykle's arm?
