The next day Moon woke up ready to set off down the mountains. He packed his belongings and breakfast that Yui had prepared for him. Moon was going to be gone for a while from home, it only made sense to make a few breakfast for him Yui though. That lady Ji-Woo's martial art skills are amazing, but her cooking is what Yui feared. She started to have second thoughts of letting her beloved child in the hands of a woman that can not cook. Moon loved Yui's cooking, there is no denying that, but there was no turning back now, Moon was already leaving and he was quite happy to go. How could she go back now on that adorable little look he had on his face? Sorry Moon dear, consider this a part of your training, Yui though.
As Moon was ready to set off down the mountains Yui stopped him.
"Moon!" she called, "be careful."
Moon looked at her straight for a few seconds, then smiled back.
Don't worry Yui, I'll be fine.
Moon took off down the mountains as Yui watched him leave. She didn't feel comfortable letting him go, but she knew that if she let him stay any longer, she would just be holding him back. Yui didn't want that for him, she had her own problems to deal with and she didn't want him to get involved, it was for the best. Moon is a smart kid, and as his biological mother she knew that better than anyone. Despite him being a kid he had the strength of a grown man. Some would say that pretty Abnormal for a seven years old. The mountains are dangerous, but unfortunately for Moon, Yui knew he wouldn't be bothered by something like that.
"Worried about letting the kid go?" Said Mister Tae.
"Tae? What are you doing around here?" Asked Yui.
"I heard there was chaos in some of the towns and villages, so I just stopped by. He replied.
Yui stopped to look at him for a second. She smelled a sense from him that she recognized. She then walked towards him and then sniffed him, it seems she knew the smell he had on him. The smell was very sweet. She quickly pulled out her stick and hit him on the head so fast it was hard for him to avoid the hits.
"It was you who's been stealing my Pumpkins!" She yelled.
"I'm sorry Yui!" Mister Tae replied.
"No you're not, my son took his time every single day growing those pumpkins, Every single day Tae!" Yelled Yui.
"Come on I ain't got no money, I had to eat something or I would starve to death" Mister Tae replied.
"What are you, a beggar?" said Yui.
After that they both decided to settle down for a bit and talk about the situation in the towns.
Timeskip
There was news about villages and Towns being in chaos, there was a bomb attack that left many people dead and hurt. People started to investigate the situation from many different towns, even the higher ups got involved, and some towns were on complete lockdown. However Moon had no idea about any of this, he was busy dealing with his own problems. Moon was lost deep down the forest mountain. The pathway disappeared, or so he thought.
“Didn’t Yui say if there’s no longer a path there should be some kind of tree, sign or something?”
Moon didn’t have good memories, he sometimes would forget things after you would tell him, so he wandered around the areas, not too far. He decided to go back to the end of the pathway he came from, sit there and think, but then he was something, a tree. It was just one tree, but it wasn’t just any tree in fact, it was different from the others. It had a cyan color that glowed beautifully and was magical. Moon was quite Astounded by it, he started to hear many things, bugs and water drops. Water drops? Is there a lake by? He thought.
All of a sudden, Moon realized something was off, it was dark. Why is it dark? He thought. I left this morning, there was this long walk, it was this long for it to be night time already, that’s crazy.
That’s when other trees started to glow like the first one he saw, they led to a different path, when Moon looked back the path he came from was no longer there, just a bunch of trees that were not glowing. He wanted to go back ,but then he thought to himself. He probably would just get lost if he tried that, so there was no going back now, all he could do was keep moving forward. He continued his walk, the walk was long but he didn’t mind, he started to see many things. Lighting bugs that shine very bright. White foxes with white eyes, now that was something you don’t see every day Moon thought to himself as he was amazed. He then came across something he had never seen in his life before, a lake that lit up as the waterfall came down with such a relaxing sound. He was amazed he forgot why he was even there.
Right! right I’m here to meet that woman, but we’re? Moon then continued to walk down the path with the glow trees. He walks, and walks, till his stomach is growling. He grabbed his bang from his back and opened it. He had different types of food that Yui prepared for him. Rice fish, chicken and more, so he chose rice. He said his grace before eating, and started to dig in. But then he realized something, he was standing up, it was bad manners to stand up and eat. It was something his family and his ancestors did.
Moon put his food done and got on his knees and put his hand together.
“Forgive me Yui and ancestors.” Said Moon. “I promise to never eat standing up ever again.”
He quickly ate of his food and began to walk down the path. Then there was a small light down the path Moon saw, as he walked closer he noticed it was a light. When he got to the light he didn’t see trees anymore, it was the end. He looked at the sky, they were bright day lights. It seemed that this was no ordinary forest, the sky was just dark, why is it daytime again? Was it my imagination? Moon Thought. He looked and saw a small house up a hill. He went up the hill towards the house knocking on the door to see if anyone was there. He stood there for a while knocking again and rocking back and forward waiting to hear something, but he heard nothing.
“What are you doing here?”
“Huh!?” Said Moon.
He turns around seeing an old woman with a long stick in her hand along with a straw hat. She had short black hair with one eye closed with a scar on her mouth. She looked at Moon with a serious look, and then asked him again.
“Hey! I asked you a question.” She said again.
Moon quickly responded.
“M-My mother to meet a woman named Kim Ji-Woo.
This woman was shocked and confused, but then was relieved.
Oh you're that kid Yui must have sent huh?” She said, “Come in, I’ll show you to your room.”
“Wait…! Said Moon, your…”
Before he could finish that sentence she cut him off.
Yes! Yes, I’m Kim Ji-woo.”
Moon had no words to say, all he could do was follow her. When he entered her house he followed her until they got the room, the house wasn’t big but it was enough for two people at least, well she does live by herself anyway Moon thought.
“This will be your room for tonight.” She said,
Moon looked around the room, it was no room, it was a jungle. Bed nearly destroyed, bugs and cockroaches crawling, a terrible smell in the atmosphere, half of the room wall falling off, flies just flying and wrestling with each other. What The Heck Is Going On In This House!?? Moon Thought, He didn’t even want to lay down.
“Look kid, so you're making your food okay? She said, the bathroom that way, um…and that will be it, get some sleep, we got a big day tomorrow.
“But it’s early…? it's early in the morning…!?``said Moon as he was confused.
She then walked away with a big fat glass bottle of whatever was in her hand, drinking it as if someone was going to steal it or something, and she then fell on her bed very hard quickly going to sleep.
“Oh sweet lord Taira no Kiyomori, This woman is a freeloader” Said Moon with a sad and disappointed face as he fell on his knees.
