I moved from my window and called Silfi to explain what my mission was. She was in full no-mode but I didn’t care and she knew I wouldn’t listen even if she told me no. I also told her to not tell father, but if he ever asks just say that I went to visit Andamion, our royal guard, who was currently out injured. Silfi wanted to object but she nodded her head and began to prepare everything I needed for my little trip.
I wore my winter coat just in case anything and I took my umbrella so my hair and dress wouldn’t get wet if it ever decided to rain. I took my pouch and began to tiptoe out of my room, the floorboards creaking underneath my feet. It was way too quiet, which caused my senses to be on high alert. I quickly snuck out the front door and gates as I saw Silfi waiting for me with my belongings and a carriage. I rushed over towards her and took my belongings before getting into the carriage. I gave Silfi one last smile hoping she would smile back but she didn’t. Her eyes were watering as she took out her handkerchief and dabbed her eyes.
“Wish me luck Silfi..”
“Godspeed your highness...godspeed..”
With that, she motioned her hand forward which caused the carriage to move. The sound of hoofs clicking against the pavement made my heart pound.
“May Starlianzia (Star- Lans-Zia) be with you, Silfi.” I muttered under my breath as her figure got smaller and smaller.
I turned my attention towards the things Silfi bought for me, one of the things caught my eye. I bright minty green paper was sticking out of the baggage Silfi brought. I took the thin paper and noticed an envelope attached to it. I read the paper first.
“M’lady, I wish I gave this to you sooner. I would’ve but your mind isn't clear yet. From Silfi.” I read her letter out loud before opening the true letter that was hiding inside the dark green envelope.
Dear Lady Kara,
I wish I could apologize to you for how I scared you on that night. I didn’t mean for that night to go as it did but when I saw them all laughing at you it brought anger into my heart. You didn’t deserve to be laughed at because of a jealous stuck up failure of a lady. I know everyone hates my kind but you...ARE...well no...I thought you were different but I was wrong. I remember the fear in your eyes as you saw my true form. You saw me as a monster. I am so sorry for how I acted on that night. I just wanted to say that I-
The rest of the letter was messed up with random splotches of ink. I found it funny how the letter gets messed up as soon as the important part comes.
“Why was this hidden from me…?”
I turned the paper over and saw small words written onto the back in gold.
‘The Ciunikal (Sin-I-Kal) Mountains’
My eyes widened as I bit my lip with slight excitement. Kein left a clue as to where she is. I was happy and all but a trip to the Ciunikal Mountains is a solid week trip. I might have to stop by a passing town on my way there to get more supplies. I exhaled deeply before laying down to take a nice quick nap. My eyes began to close and sooner or later I fell asleep on the soft lime cushions of the carriage.
After a while, I woke up due to the sounds of screaming and neighing. I kicked open the carriage door and poked my head out as I saw my horsemen and horses being slaughtered. My heart sank as I covered my mouth. A stranger wearing a cloak was killing my people and animals. I stepped out of the carriage and stomped over towards the stranger. The person came to a stop and raised their head, locking eyes with me. I noticed that they had dark blue eyes, and white with pink hair. The person’s cloak blew off and I realised that the stranger was nothing more than a mere kid.
“W-What the?!”
The kid ran towards me and landed a firm punch at my stomach. I clutched my stomach in pain and raised my hand. I wheezed as the air was nearly knocked out of me. Why was this little shit even attacking me? What did I even do to him?
I recoiled my hand back and landed a firm slap against the kid’s head.
“Is this how you treat a lady?! What would your mother say?! You little thief! You killed my people and my animals and now you’re attacking me! This whole time I’ve been letting people walk over me but not today! I’ve had enough shit for one day! I will show you first hand why my name is Kara Grapp!”
I slammed my right heel down, causing vines to sprout up from the ground, trapping the boy in it. I inhaled deeply before muttering a single word.
“Die.”
In a flash, the kid began to scream as his body became covered in blue flowers. Then out of nowhere his body swelled up and popped, his guts splattering over my vines. The scene disgusted me but I was too upset to give a damn about it.
“Revive.”
The boy’s body slowly rebuilt itself. Fear plastered onto his face as I removed my vines from him. He ran over towards me and got down onto his knees.
“I-Im sorry! Will you be my mentor?!”
“H-HUH?!”
The kid looked up into my eyes with sparkles in his eyes. I tilted my head to the side and gave him a disapproving look. He clutched onto my dress and cried. I glanced around and panicked. I didn’t want anyone getting the wrong idea.
“FINE! I’ll be your mentor! Just promise me you’ll listen and please...TELL ME YOUR NAME!”
The boy jumped up with joy before bowing.
“Sulian, twelve, and ready for your training master! I want to be a famous killer like you!”
“Eh-”
I mentally slapped myself for forgetting what the boy had done. I was so easily persuaded by his eyes and cries that I gave in. I summoned my vines and revived my people and the horses. They all just stood there eyeing the boy. I wouldn’t blame them, this kid was all sorts of a threat. I grabbed his hand and blew my flower mist into his face. Causing the boy to knock out, I picked him up and got into the carriage without saying a word.
“Just great...another headache..”
Honestly I can’t stand kids, they take away time and value from life, the only reason why I’m taking in this kid is because I feel as if he’s misunderstood, like Kein. I glanced down and my arms were holding the boy. The vines had disappeared but I still felt them. I haven’t used my abilities in a while, they felt like a curse in my eyes. As much as I despise my abilities they were the only true thing that helped me stay connected with my mother. She had the same abilities as me but she could alter the stars and make the whole sky twinkle with love.
“There is only one thing I can do.”
I closed my eyes and took a nap.
‘Kara~’
I opened my eyes to only be surrounded by darkness.
“Oh no..not this again..”
The darkness was soon gone and was replaced with a bright colorful mint room. My room. I walked towards my bed and saw Kein sitting on the opposite side of it. She was wearing the same dress she wore that day. I got onto the bed and crawled towards her. She must’ve felt my movements because she turned herself towards me. I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out. No matter what I did, my voice just didn’t come out.
Kein rested one of her gloved fingers onto my lips. Her eyes burned into mine as she moved her finger and replaced it with her lips. Her lips felt warm, as if she was actually kissing me. I kissed her back before she slowly pinned me down onto the bed. She moved my hair away from my eyes as she broke the kiss, smiling at me. Her canines were sharp and ready to bite. She brought her face towards my neck, I felt scared in a way but I was also excited to see what she would do. Kein bit down into my neck. I bit my lip and held in the pain but the pain got worse. It felt as if something was biting me. Not in a good way that is. I looked up to see Kein but she wasn’t there, except the kid was there, laughing at me.
I screamed as I woke up from the slumber I was in. The kid fell out of his seat due to my loud yelp. He looked around as he screamed at me.
“M-Master, what's wrong?! Are you hurt?”
My mind muted the kid’s voice out as the events that happened in my dream replayed in my head. I touched my lips and blushed hard as the feeling of Kein’s lips never left them. It felt so real even though it was a dream.
Reality kicked in as I let out a big sigh. The kid touched my neck causing me to yelp in slight pain.
“Master, who bit you?”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“You have two canine marks going into your neck! Someone bit you.”
Someone. I picked up the kid and shook him like a bottle of wine. I squealed and rolled around on the carriage seats, squishing the poor kid.
“I KISSED KEIN!”
