“You bastard!” Bex shouted, her eyes turning fully red as she was triggered into a rage.
“Rebecca no!” Lyssa tried to stop her.
Bex ran in full charge but the succubus put Nora right in her face causing Bex to freeze in her steps.
“Now Rebecca, that wasn’t nice,” Demetris smirked.
Bex covered her head, trying to calm down.
“All you have to do is surrender yourselves to me and she goes free.” He said.
“You tell lies!” Lyssa shouted.
“Maybe,” he said.
“Surrender the girl now or we will attack,” Dean shouted.
“Daw, it’s okay Rebecca. You can’t help that you’ve been outsmarted, again,” Nixi the succubus teased.
“Kill the bastards Rebecca!” Cedric called.
“Shut up,” he got elbowed in the face.
“Don’t surrender!” Deno called.
“Rebecca, come on now, be a good girl.” Demetris outstretched his hand towards her.
Bex’s whimpered her head clouded with lots of things. The sound of a baby crying, the images of her parents mangled bodies in her head. The feeling of dread sitting heavily in her stomach. That feeling of when she felt the baby leave her arms, how helpless she felt. It all came rushing back in.
Lyssa looked away, knowing what was coming next.
Bex’s head jerked back and she let out an animalist cry of pain which turned into a roar like a lion. Then she grabbed Demetris and ripped his arm clean off its body. He cried out in agony.
Bex turned her attention to Nixi but Nixi was faster, she fell up into the air, far away from where Bex could get her. The other vampires quickly surrounded Bex, grabbing her.
Lyssa ran in to help and so did the slayers.
But before they could a whole other group of vampires showed up, the higher councils army, well part of it.
Lyssa stumbles back, her eyes wide at all the vampires.
“Kill them all!” The leader shouted.
“Oh no, you don’t!” Cedric flipped out of his hold and ran to help the others.
Lyssa felt her panic rise and she ran into the mass of Vampires to save Rebecca.
“We are going to need lots of backup!” one of the slayers said.
“On it!” Dean ran off to the side to make some calls.
The first call he made was to Joan, they had been in touch over the years when he needed their help with odd jobs.
“Hello?” Joan answered.
“It’s here! The war is here! Hurry! To the clearing, they have Nora!” he said before quickly hanging up and dialing the other slayer group.
“We’re already on our way,” their leader answered before hanging up.
Then he called Aron, knowing he needed some magic on his side.
“Hello?”
“Come to the clearing, now, as soon as you can. It’s a war. A vampire war. Hurry! Bring as much help as you can.”
“Okay,” Aron said before hanging up.
Dean couldn’t get another call in before a vampire grabbed him by the throat and crushed his phone.
At the movies, Destiny wandered around the building looking for Nora and Tryx. She frowned in worry.
“Nothing?” Ross asked her, he was helping her look.
“I mean, she may have ditched me but she usually answers when I call. I’m worried.” Destiny looked around.
Her phone started ringing from her mom.
“I guess I have to tell her,” Destiny sighed.
“Hello?”
“Hey, you never called, I’m outside.”
“Mom… Uh… we have a small, just a tiny, issue.”
“Destiny,” Darci said in a warning tone.
“Nora’s missing, I can’t find her anywhere. She and Tryx went to the bathroom and never came back.”
“I’m coming inside,” Darci said.
The three looked around one more time before Darci sighed and decided to call Joan. But before she could Joan called her.
“Hello?”
“Where is Nora,” Joan asked in an urgent tone.
“About that, Destiny says she went to the bathroom and never came back. She’s missing. We suspect she ran off with her friend. She’s not answering.”
“God damn it!” Joan cursed.
Darci cringed.
“I’ll load up the car,” Rooney said in the background.
“What’s wrong?” Darci asked.
“They have her, vampires have Nora. We have to go. Meet me at my house, stay indoors. This is about to get ugly.” Joan said before hanging up.
“Dad?” Ross answered his phone.
Destiny looked at him.
“Okay, I’m on my way.” He hung up. “Sorry, I got to go. I hope you find Nora.” He quickly ran off, his cousin on his tail.
“Destiny, let’s go. Hurry!” Darci grabbed her hand and they ran out of the movie theater.
“What about Nora!?” Destiny stumbled and struggled to keep up.
“Hurry!” Darci got in the car.
Lyssa flew back, skidding on the floor. She coughed and blood spewed out of her mouth.
“Stay down,” Demetris stomped on her, looking bloody and half-crazed.
“Rebecca…” Lyssa wheezed out.
Soon more slayers arrived, jumping out of cars in full gear coming out guns blazing. Shooting every vampire in sight.
Joan and Rooney were the next to arrive. They watched Bex tackle Demetris to the ground.
“It was easy killing your family!” he taunted, throwing Bex off of him.
Bex cried out and leaped towards him again.
Two vampires grabbed her from behind.
“They begged for mercy, kept asking why I was doing it.” He spat, wiping blood from his face.
“Shut up!” Bex cried.
“I told them as they drew their last breath, you can thank your dear daughter Rebecca.”
Bex turned into a lion and leaped at him. Biting his neck.
A vampire grabbed her by the ribs and squeezed, nearly snapping her in half. Then he slammed her onto the ground.
“Hey! Get off of her!” Joan called before shooing him.
Rooney fired the silver dust cannon in the air.
Hissing sounds filled the air.
Bex turned back to normal and struggled to get up.
She looked up to the sky, seeing Nora too far away.
“Bex are you okay?” Joan ran up to her.
Bex ignored her before she transformed into a bird and took to the sky.
Joan looked up to see where she was going, her eyes locked onto Nora.
“Get back!” Aaron called, using magic to blast vampires back 10 feet.
He ran over to Lyssa on the ground.
“Rebecca!” Lyssa called up to her.
“Ahh!” screams of agony filled the air as Nico was stabbed by a vampire slayer.
“No!” Deno ran in to save her.
Cali cried out in horror as a Vampire grabbed him and snapped his neck, throwing his body to the side where slayers moved to set it on fire.
Lyssa looked at them, then up, then back at them, before running to help them.
Mike and his wife Annalee arrived on the scene with Garret who ran over to Ross and Julez as they stood off to the side and watched the horror show.
Lyssa was fighting people on both sides, left and right. Slayers and Vampires. She threw Deno to Cedric, so he could run him home to safety, then did the same to Nico, tossing her to Cali.
“Go!” Lyssa said.
“No! We’re not leaving you.”
“Get out of here, now!” Lyssa shouted.
In the sky Bex transformed back to herself, latching onto Nixi.
“Ugh!” Nixi quickly started spiraling around in the air to try and shake her
Bex dug her nails into her skin.
Nixi cried out in pain.
“Let her go!” Bex cried.
“You want her, fine!” she dropped Nora.
Time once again froze as Bex watched Nora fall.
She immediately let go and tried to catch her, reaching her hand out as much as she could. She snagged Nora by the shirt and yanked the girl up into the air, wrapping her body in her arms as she fell.
“Nora!” Rooney screamed, watching the scene play out.
Annalee transformed into a werewolf and ran full speed ahead, jumping up into the air to catch the girls. They landed with a hard thud.
Bex stood in relief, seeing Nora unharmed.
Then she let out a sharp gasp and Annalee watched Bex fall forward.
Not too far away Lyssa was stabbed in the back by a silver stake.
Lyssa fell forward to the ground in defeat.
“It’s over!” Demetris kicked Lyssa. “You lost!” he stomped her head into the ground.
Bex struggled to get up, looking in Lyssa’s direction.
“Now it’s time to end this once and for all.” With his one arm, he raised a sword into the air.
“No!” Bex cried out.
Everyone turned to watch.
Joan started running but she knew she wouldn’t be fast enough to stop it. Then she saw a blur run past her and her eyes got wide as the sword swung down and cut Bex’s back badly.
She cried out in pain as she shielded Lyssa’s body.
Lyssa stared up at her, bloody, bruised, beaten.
“You promised.” Bex’s tears dripped down onto her face. “You promised me you wouldn’t die.” Bex sobbed.
“I’m sorry my love,” Lyssa coughed and more blood spewed past her lips. “This looks like the end for us.”
“No, not yet,” Bex said.
Then she stood up and grabbed the sword from Demetris’s hand as he tried to stab her. In one clean swoop, she whacked his head off.
She knew she wasn’t going to make it out, but she could still save Lyssa.
She picked Lyssa up in her arms, kissed her one last time before she used the last of her strength to throw Lyssa far, Joan ran in and caught her, skidding to a stop.
“Get her out of here!” Bex cried out as she soon became surrounded.
Joan turned to look for Nora but saw that Annalee was fighting two vampires and that the succubus had reclaimed Nora again.
“We have to go,” Rooney pulled Joan back.
“Retreat!” Dean called out.
“Nora!” Joan called.
“Go!” Bex called to her.
Joan looked back at her.
Go. Bex mouthed. I’ll save her this time.
Joan looked at Rebecca and nodded before she ran away, leaving Nora and Bex behind as everyone retreated.
“No,” Lyssa tried to move in Joan’s arms.
“Shut up.” Joan spat at her as they left.
“What the hell is going on!?” Mike demanded as they all arrived at Joan’s house.
“Yeah, can someone fill us in!?” Aron demanded.
“Joan, Lyssa!” Darci ran over to them.
“Where’s Nora?” Destiny asked.
“Everyone shut up!” Joan cried out.
The house got silent.
“God damn it,” Joan sobbed, running a hand through her now crazed hair.
She laid Lyssa down on the table as blood leaked everywhere and the smell of rotting flesh filled the room.
“Why is this happening again!?” Joan cried out in pain, pulling her hair in her hands.
“Dad, what’s going on?” Ross asked.
Lyssa tried to stand, “Rebecca,” she wheezed out.
Joan grabbed her and punched her hard in the face, knocking her out.
Rooney sighed.
“Joan, what’s going on?” Darci asked.
Annalee leaned heavily against the wall, nursing her shoulder.
Joan took a deep calming breath before turning to face her friends.
“A vampire war is here. They’ve come to kill Lyssa and her pack. They took Rebecca and Nora.” Joan said.
Everyone was silent.
“Damn you!” Joan punched the knocked-out Lyssa. “Damn you, Damn you, Damn you!” she hit her over and over again. “Why do you always ruin my life!?” Joan shook her body.
Rooney pulled her back.
They all watched a silent tear leak out of Lyssa’s eye.
Destiny was completely lost but she stayed silent, knowing now wasn’t the time and place to ask questions.
“We need Lyssa, alive, and awake. Please try not to kill her.” Rooney said.
“We’ll figure this out. We’ll get Nora back.” Aron said.
“We just need a plan,” Darci said.
“We can’t win!” Joan shouted at all of them. “There will be hundreds of them, thousands! Look at us! We aren’t what we used to be. We can’t win.” She said in defeat.
“Yes, we can!” Mike said. “We never let the odds stop us before. We will get Nora and Bex back. No matter what.”
Annalee smiled appreciatively at him.
“Well,” Rooney pulled the stake out of Lyssa. “The only way we win this is with her help. Let’s wake her up.”
