“I thought that was the second one,” Destiny turned in her seat in the car.
“No, when they kill the mom is in the third one.” Nora argued.
“Are you sure?”
“Aunt Darci, tell her,” Nora said.
“You are both wrong, she died in the secret ending of movie one, and it wasn’t explained until the end of movie two and beginning of movie three.” Darci shook her head as they drove to the movies.
“What!?” Destiny and Nora said at the same time.
Tryx laughed.
“Sorry girls, but momma’s always right.” Darci shrugged.
“These movies suck anyway,” Nora pouted.
“Yeah,” Destiny agreed.
“Since no one won the bet, I think your new friend Tryx should decide what movie you guys get to watch,” Darci suggested.
“Okay, I’m fine with that.” Nora shrugged.
“Yeah me too, but pick my movie,” Destiny said.
Nora kicked her seat.
“Hmm, how about a horror movie? I like Horror movies.” Tryx said.
“Really? Me too!” Nora said.
Destiny rolled her eyes.
Darci eyed her, Destiny gave her the silent signal that Nora was in love by batting her lashes and sighing dramatically.
Nora kicked her chair again.
Darci laughed.
“I just like that they can get my heart pounding.” Tryx didn’t notice the interaction.
“Yeah totally.” Nora agreed.
Darci pulled up to the front of the movies.
“Okay, you know the rules. Have fun, stick together. Call me when the movie is over and I’ll come get you.”
“Okay,” Destiny unbuckled.
“Give me kisses.”
“Aunt Darci,” Nora whined in embarrassment.
“Kisses!”
Tryx giggled as Nora sighed before kissing Darci on the cheek.
Destiny kissed the other cheek before the girls unloaded from the car.
“Stay safe!” Darci called after them.
“Ugh, your mom is embarrassing,” Nora complained.
“My mom ain’t got nothing on your moms.”
“Point taken,” Nora sighed.
“You guys are funny,” Tryx giggled.
“That’s me Nora funny pants.”
Destiny cringed and walked ahead to the ticket booth.
“Hmm, I’m going to have to make a list for all your names.” Tryx teased.
“It might be a long list, I’m known for a lot of things.” Nora tried to flirt.
Tryx giggled.
“Yuck, I’m totally the third wheel,” Destiny complained to the ticket attendant.
He chuckled.
They bought their tickets and went inside to buy snacks.
“Hey Nora!” one of Ross’s buddies called out to her.
“Ignore them.” Destiny held her head high.
“Nora!”
Nora sighed and turned them.
“Ross’s cousin,” he mouthed before pointing to the nerdy looking girl standing off to the side looking miserable as Ross bought snacks for the movie.
Nora flipped him off.
He laughed.
“Jerks,” Destiny muttered as they got into a different line.
“What was that about?” Tryx asked.
“Stupid boys and their stupid faces,” Nora grumbled.
Tryx eyed the group of guys as they laughed and horsed around.
“Poor girl, she looks miserable,” Tryx commented.
“Ross’s cousin moved in with him last year for some reason. Ross has to drag her everywhere with him. His dad makes him.” Destiny said.
“Wonder why,” Tryx eyed them.
“I heard it’s because she has some rare genetic disorder, and her parents can’t afford her care,” Nora said.
“I heard she got kicked out of her parent's house for bad behavior,” Destiny said.
“As if Ross is the pinnacle example for good behavior.” Nora snarked.
All three girls giggled.
After buying their snacks they walked into the movie which to their disappointment was the same movie Ross and his group came to see.
“Told you we should have done the comedy,” Destiny said as they took their seat.
Nora sighed.
“Who cares, let’s just ignore them,” Tryx said.
Nora smiled at her that is until Ross’s group slid into the seats next to them and Ross’s cousin sat right next to her.
Destiny cringed.
Ross’s cousin Juelz is the same age as them. She used to live out of state in a big well-known city before her parents forced her to move to Thorndale with her uncle. Ever since the girl had a permanent scowl on her face and a hard look in her eyes.
She wore thick and chunky glasses, she is small, thin, frail-looking. All her clothes were baggy on her. She had dark brown hair which is cut in a short bob. She had a tiny ponytail where most of her hair spilled out on the side. People often picked on her here and compared her to her cool cousin Ross.
If anyone asked, she’d gladly tell them why she hates Thorndale and everything about it. Not that anyone ever bothered to ask. No one talked to her unless they had to, or Ross dragged her along with him.
Ross’s friends snickered at the two and poked fun.
Nora sunk down in her chair miserably.
“Cut it out guys,” Ross snarked.
“Yeah I’m trying to watch a movie here,” Garret said in a funny accent.
They finally quieted down as the movie started. Tryx’s phone kept going off until she had no choice but to get and go to the bathroom to take it.
“I’ll show you where it is,” Nora followed her.
“Hurry back, I’ll tell you what you miss.” Destiny whispered.
They nodded and left.
“Everything okay?” Nora asked as they walked to the bathroom.
“Just my stupid mom, technically I wasn’t supposed to go out tonight.”
“Oops.” Nora giggled.
“I might have to go home.” Tryx sighed.
“Oh,” Nora said, her mood instantly crushed.
They walked into the bathroom where Tryx once again ignored the call.
“I mean we only have an hour left, I’m sure she can wait. I’ll even talk to her for you if you want.”
“It’s not that…”
“Tell me.” Nora urged.
“I know we just met but… can I trust you?”
“Of course,” Nora got in closer, looking around to make sure they were alone.
“I’m not… normal,” Tryx said.
“What do you mean?”
“It’s easier If I just show you, come with me?”
“But what about—”
Tryx cut her off by kissing her.
Nora felt her heart flip flop inside of her before she closed her eyes and deepened the kiss.
It was her first kiss ever.
They broke apart and Nora stared into Tryx’s eyes. She watched Tryx’s eyes swirl purple and thought about how odd it looked. But the longer she stared the more glazed over her eyes got and she felt all weird and loopy.
“Come with me, I’ll show you,” Tryx said.
“Okay.” Nora followed after her.
‘Nora, snap at of it. You are under her trance. She seduced you.’ Jinn warned.
But Nora ignored them.
They walked outside and out back where no one would see them. Then Tryx took her jacket off and tied it around her waist. She wore a strapless tank top and Nora watched as two large bat-like wings suddenly shot out of Tryx’s back.
“Whoa,” Nora said in awe.
A tail snaked out of the hem of Tryx’s pants and curled and twisted around in the air.
“You’re a…”
‘Succubus.’ Jinn concluded.
“Succubus,” Tryx said.
“Holy cow…” Nora stared at her with glazed eyes.
“I don’t really like going out at night.”
“Why not?”
“Because that’s when the cravings are the strongest, especially under a full moon. It’s almost unbearable.”
“Cravings?”
“Yeah… the uh... sex cravings.” Tryx nervously pushed her hair behind her ear.
“Oh.” Is all Nora could think to say.
“Do you think I’m weird?” Tryx asked.
“No, not at all. I kind of think you’re cool.” Nora smiled.
“Really?”
Nora nodded.
“I think… I think you’re cool too.”
Nora giggled, then Tryx giggled.
“This is awesome!” Nora walked over to Tryx to admire her wings.
“I kind of have another confession to make.”
“What?” Nora turned to her.
‘Strange, though she seduced you, she hasn’t yet taken advantage of it.’ Jinn commented.
“I’m kind of here to kidnap you.”
“Me!?”
“My mom is making me.”
“For real!? Why me?”
“I don’t really know the details. I just want to be honest. I’m actually supposed to take you now.”
“Like, right now right now?”
Tryx nodded.
“Oh.”
“Nora you are so cool and I know none of this is your fault but if I don’t take you, I’m done for. I’m not being dramatic when I say the survival of my race depends on this. Succubi are going extinct and someone promised to help us if we took you. I don’t want to hurt you, and I’m not going to force you. But I would really appreciate it if you just, came with me.”
“Okay.”
“Really!?”
“I mean, no one has ever wanted to kidnap me before, I’m kind of curious to see where this goes. Plus I want to help you, and your race. I think you’re awesome.”
Tryx engulfed her in a hug.
Nora blushed.
“Should we tell Destiny?” Nora pulled back.
“No, no one can know.”
“Promise not to hurt me?”
Tryx nodded.
“Okay, then take me away.”
Tryx kissed her again and Nora kissed her back.
‘This is a dangerous situation, you shouldn’t go with her.’
‘Relax, I can defend myself if I have to. I mean I have you. What can go wrong? I just want to help her.’ Nora responded in her head.
Tryx wrapped her arms around Nora then shot up into the sky.
“Wooh! This is fun!” Nora cheered.
Tryx laughed as they flew off into the night.
Lyssa and Bex walked into the clearing, looking around in caution.
“Are you sure about this?” Cali said into their earpiece.
“Stand down, only come in if I give the signal,” Lyssa responded.
“I don’t like this,” Deno said.
“They weren’t exactly welcoming to me,” Nico added.
“They know me, we have history,” Lyssa said.
“Just sit back and enjoy the show,” Cedric said.
Everyone gave a collected sigh.
“Eyes open, we got a live one,” Deno said.
A van pulled into the clearing and out stepped Dean, now in his late 30’s, and a few other vampire slayers all in full gear.
“Never thought I’d see your faces again.” Dean walked up to them.
“I know, I’m sorry. I know you were told we were banished from this area. But desperate times call for desperate measures.”
“So I’ve heard.”
“You look good,” Bex said to him.
“You mean old.”
They giggled.
“So, you’re the leader of the slayers here?” Lyssa asked.
“I am, passed down to me by my dad. He’s retired now.”
“I’ll just get to the point then; war is coming. A vampire war, here, in Thorndale. Our numbers are big, but not that big. We need all the help we can get. So I am reaching out to you to form an alliance.” Lyssa explained.
“I’ll be honest with you guys, our numbers are small. Back when you two were here and all that stuff went down. Our guild spilt in two and most of our members laid down their arms and quit for good. We have moved into a more peaceful view of vampires. We only attack if we absolutely have to. We can’t offer much help and the other guild won’t want to work with you at all. They stay on the far side of Thorndale, close to the next town over. After you left Yancy got everyone all riled up and forced people to pick a side. He’s dead now, but the person he passed the guild to is just as bad as he was. They have more members than us, but they aren’t peaceful. They will attack and try to kill you.”
“Thanks for the heads up,” Lyssa said.
“Look, if vampires show up here, we’ll do what we have to. But we have no beef with you guys unless you kill someone.” Dead said.
“My pack doesn’t kill. That’s rule number one. They have all learned to feed without killing. Some even strictly stick to donated blood now. You won’t have to worry about that. But there are a lot of us here now. Nearly 100 by the end of the week. Only about half that is here right now.”
“Jesus,” one of the other slayers said.
“So when you say war—”
“I mean actual war,” Lyssa said.
“And this will be ground zero,” Bex added.
“Damn,” Dean cursed.
“We tried to push them back, but we couldn’t. The main group is already here and they have teamed with demons and other things to outdo us. It’s not looking good for us. Even if you don’t join us, take this as a warning. Bloodshed will come.”
“Bloodshed is already here.” Demetris walked into the clearing.
Soon they were surrounded by lots of vampires, some of which had the other pack members hostage.
Bex and Lyssa got on the defensive.
“Arms up!” Dean ordered.
The slayers got armed and ready.
“You are so predictable.” He shook his head.
“Let them go,” Lyssa ordered.
“You can’t win! We have more members who will come when we give the signal!” Bex shouted.
“You’re outnumbered,” Lyssa said.
“Maybe, but I have something you want.”
They watched a succubus fly down into the clearing with a knocked out, Nora.
Bex’s eyes went big.
“Checkmate,” he smirked.
