Vera’s POV
I am beyond pissed now that I once again saw that woman!
Why is she so clingy to William?
He doesn’t like that! He doesn’t like clingy women!
But why her?
Ever since that night, I’ve been in a really bad mood, that I even get mad at Marco.
Marco is my current boyfriend.
But why am I so mad? I leave William because I know I don’t like him anymore.
But now that he’s with someone, I thought he won’t have a new girlfriend soon.
It’s just a few months. And now he’s already happy?
I just can’t accept it.
“But what made you so different? Didn’t you reject him? And then you are already engaged to this new boyfriend of yours?” My friend Rose is drinking with me right now. And she’s the most straightforward person I've ever met.
“Sigh. If only William fell in love with me instead, I would gladly give him dozens of babies if he asked me for marriage.” How can she say those things to me?
“Rose, are you perhaps trying to flirt with him before?” I'm shocked!
“Are you crazy? He’s so into you, no one can even get his attention from you. William is the apple in the eye way back in Uni days. And everyone likes him.”
I know that. He’s the most handsome, and he’s gentle and kind.
“But I guess there are some stupid people who choose to throw away such gem and be with a trash.” She said as she sipped her coffee.
“Can you stop that?”
“Why? I’m just telling the truth. You broke up with him and didn’t accept his proposal all because you have your eye on this trashy boyfriend of yours. You got bored and decided to leave him.”
Once she tells you about it, she can’t stop it.
And she’s right. I got bored.
William is too good. Too kind, and I made a mistake.
“So what’s your plan? Didn’t you have a new rival now? I heard she’s pretty and bold.” Rose said but she’s not looking at me, I can feel how bored she is right now.
“I just have to be close to him again.”
“What? Are you crazy?”
“Why? I just can’t let it happen. Him being with someone else.”
I’m crazy.
Why did I even think about that?
“How can you be this selfish? I can’t believe how stupid you’re turning right now.”
Despite Rose’s objection, I know I already decided and I’m confident enough.
William, it is still not time for you to find your new lover.
You’re still mine.
Aphrodite’s POV
“Milady, what is your plan?”
I’m still sitting on my chair that night, while I’m savoring my new favorite pudding. I’m still thinking about what is happening in Vera’s mind.
Why is she still eager to go back to William’s life when she’s the one who leaves him in the first place?
Humans are a bit scary. If I didn’t know Vera from the day her mother gave birth to her I would think she’s a psycho.
“I just have to make sure William is no longer hurt. Might as well find a suitable partner for him while I’m still here.”
Ah, this pudding is the best.
“How would you do that milady? Every day he goes to work, and now that the ex is with him every day, there is a 75% chance that they will go back together.”
Nona is correct, that would be most likely to happen.
“I guess I need to totally guard him huh?’
I’m already irritated thinking about what I should do. I feel sorry for William because it’s his life that is already getting messed up.
Then a sudden shaking brought our attention.
We both knew something is coming, and it’s not a normal being, but a god.
It’s been a while since I held a sword. You must be asking why I’m holding a sword right now. Because I’ve been abducted before. Some powerful god that wishes to marry me takes drastic measures. My father did everything he could to save me. And it’s Ares who gave the death blow to my abductor.
I’m very much thankful to Ares. But that doesn’t mean that I can tolerate his being flirtatious towards me. I can use my sword despite him being the god of war.
Oh well, maybe I’m still traumatized about it.
“Wow, I didn't know I would find you in a crumpled place like this, Aphrodite, I’m shocked!”
And there he is, the biggest flirt of all Mt. Olympus, Ares.
“Hey, Ares! Aren’t you being rude for entering a woman’s bedroom?” my eyebrow is twitching.
“Ooops, so this is only a bedroom? I can’t believe you’ll be staying his for a year in the mortal calendar.”
I sighed.
“So the news already spread there?” I rolled my eyes.
“Fast as Hermes, you know how news spreads like wildfire.”
I didn’t answer him.
Ares as the god of war has a great physique. It’s hard not to find him handsome even for some goddess at Mt, Olympus. But I know he’s not my type, that’s why I’m not really interested in him.
He did save me before and I thank him for that.
I remember my father almost suggested that I should marry my savior, which I totally declined and Ares felt the same way. My father was saddened about it, but I knew he’s a playboy and he hides many women in his chamber. He acts all high and mighty in front of father but I know the real Ares.
He can’t fool me.
“So what brings you here?” I fixed myself and sat straight.
“Oh that, I just want to meet the guy who got the great Aphrodite’s attention to even come down to the mortal world to fix his problem.”
He what?
Suddenly someone knocks at the door, and a few seconds later, William opens the door with packed food in his hand.
“I bought us dinner, we can-!” he suddenly stops talking when he sees Ares.
“Oh, you didn’t tell me you got another visitor.”
I can feel that he’s a bit irritated because I let someone come as he pleases in his own house.
And then, I’m shocked to see Ares drawing out his sword.
“So you are the guy who held Aphrodite hostage, huh?”
And he swung his sword, about to attack William.
“ARES, NO!!!
