*Knock* *Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
“Hey! Wake up dammit, You’re gonna be late again! That’s it, Evan I’m coming in!”
I could barely open my eyes, as I heard someone walking towards my room.
“Evan wake up, and have you ever cleaned your room? It smells like someone died in here!”
“Huh? Oh hey Sam, morning!”
“Evan get up or you’re gonna be late to school.”
“School? Summer break started yesterday!”
“Summer break-”
“Pffffff! You forgot it was break!?”
“Hey stop laughing!”
“Sorry, but how can you forget it’s summer!? Is all you think about just school!?”
“Well sometimes yeah…”
“Pfffftttt! I CAN’T- Really just school!?”
“I said STOP LAUGHING!”
“Ok ok sorry.” Sam maybe my best friend but he can have anger issues sometimes so I hate making him mad. Honestly, though we have a lot in common so we’ve always hung out even as kids.
“Anyway, I didn’t eat breakfast so I’ll be downstairs. You can go back to sleep if you want. Your mom left a note saying she had to leave early for some business trip and won’t be back for another month.”
“Really again? That’s the eighth time she’s left this year! Also, you woke me up so if you’re making something to eat you have to make some for me too!”
“Eh do I have to? You’re too picky so you probably won’t like it.”
“Like I care, you just have to make up for waking me up!”
“Ok ok, whatever just get changed and I’ll start making something.”
“Ok!” It feels like my mom is never home, while for Sam his mom is always home. The amount of times I've been to his house it’s like she’s my mom too. There’s not much we can do though saying that we’re both have no siblings and don’t even know who our dads are.
“Evan! Hurry up, the food's already done!”
“Ok! I’m coming!”
“Finally how long does it take to change!?”
“Hey wait, you made biscuits and gravy!? You said I probably wouldn’t like it then go and make my favorite!?”
“I only made it because you had the stuff for it. You really need to go to the store.”
“Yeah yeah whatever, I’ll go later.”
“Well now that I’m here, what do you want to do?”
“We could go to the store and buy some drinks, then call a few or our other friends and have a drinking party?” (They’re all in college and 21 or older.)
“Yeah, sure whatever let’s go.”
