It's been a couple of days since the opening ceromony. I enjoyed the moment were I had the chance to hold the United-States flag at the opening ceromony for team USA. It may have been my only opportunity to do so. Today is August 3trd the day of the quarter finals in swimming for men. I'm pretty sure I'm going to finish first but maybe not. I may be one of the best swimmers in the world but it doesn't mean I always finish first. In my first Olympics I finished in second place winning my first olympic medal the day of my birthday. People think I always finish first but that's not true. I'm sure there's a lot of better olympians than me but I can't say that since nobody will listen to me. They say I have natural talent, well that part is true but I trained myself so hard to be in the olympics. I trained as hard as the other olympians did. The world thinks I lie about that but what can I say it's true. I don't see myself as the best olympian in the world. I see myself as an average olympian even trough I have lots of medals and finish almost in the top 3 all the time. To say the truth, I only say I'm one of the best olympians because everyone wants me to say that. I have a life like the others and feelings but sometimes you have to listen to what the world wants and ignore have you feel just so you don't disappoint others. I don't know why I'm even thinking about that when I should start preparing for the competition that's in 30 minutes.

At the competition (quarter finals)
I'm currently waiting for my name to be announce. I'm going to compete against olympians that can be as good as me. While I think about who I'm competing against they announce my name. I enter the place where I will be competing in. I see my best friend and I wave at her and I wave at the camera knowing that my family and girlfriend are watching me on tv. About my girlfriend, I should call her after this. All of us olympians start to get ready to compete in swimming. Just before they said to start, I look at all the olympians and I make eye contact with the Spanish olympian Enrique Martinez. I couldn't really thing about it since I had to start swimming.
----------
I managed to finish first and I hear that Enrique finished in fourth place. Right Enrique.. I start to remember the eye contact I made with him before we jumped in the water. To be honest it felt intense. I don't know why. I always do eye contact with the other olympians but it was never that intense... I decide to go and talk to him since he will be in the semifinals for the 100 meters race against me.
Me: Hey I wanted to come and say congratulations for making it to the semifinals. It's your first olympics am I right?
Enrique: Yeah it is.. thanks... you did great as usual.
Me: Thanks. I think you will be competing against me in the 200 meters race, 50 meters freestyle and 100 meters backstroke right?
Enrique: Yeah your right about that.
Me: Good luck for the other races.
Enrique: Thanks good luck for you too.
Me: Well I have to go and respond to the questions for the interview. See you at the 50 meters freestyle.
Enrique: See you.
We will compete against each other later in the day with the 50 meters freestyle and the 100 meters backstroke. I don't know why but every time before we jump I always make eye contact with Enrique and it's so intense. I don't understand why. I finished first in the 2 other races but Enrique only managed to finish in the top 4 in the 50 meters freestyle. So I'll be comepting against him in the semifinals of the 100 meters race and the 50 meters freestyle. To be honest, I look forward to compete against Enrique. He's better than he thinks. Sure he's not like me but he is in the olympics for some reasons. When we had our break in the evenning, I went and research more about him. There is something interesting about him. It's where I learned he didn't qualify in the 2016 Johannesburg Olympics and he only started competing again two years ago. For someone that started competing 2 years ago, he's pretty good. I don't know why they didn't accept him in the olympics in 2016. I might ask later on if I have the chance to talk to him again.

Next day
I don't know why but I kept on thinking about Enrique all night. I even dreamt about him. I can't really think about it since I have to do my routine since the semifinals are starting in less than 3 hours. I was so focused on thinking about Enrique that I forgot I had to call my girlfriend yesterday. It's not that bad I'll call her tonight. I'm sure she didn't mind since I can't always call her. I'm in the olympics and she is an actress. Little did I know I was going to keep thinking about the Spanish olympian and start to forget about my girlfriend even trough I don't want to.
