Part 3:
Upon exiting the hellscape of the boys’ bathroom, I come across yet another familiar figure entering my right periphery.
A slender, towering body with long and straight jet-black hair like mine, only with accents of purple ending off at the strands.
Just like that, I know who it is. Liah, another one of my classmates, though to me we’re only just acquaintances. I don’t talk to her that much, mainly because of her bratty twin sister who is constantly with her all the time, acting as a defense mechanism for her. The only times we can talk to each other is when she’s not around and the chances of that occurring are once in a blue moon. Those two are definitely one of the more mysterious individuals in this school though, due to their lack of connections with the other students. Are they even from here?
“Not only have you been decked by Drake himself but Ms. Bregum as well? You’re really making a name for yourself around here.” Liah quips.
“Yeah, well it isn’t the worst day of my life just yet, so I’ll keep going.” I say back.
“Hmph, you’re nothing but stubborn and single-minded. I can see why Drake has it out to get you.”
“Uhh, Sis?! Do we really have time to be standing around talking to some lowlife like him?!”
I audibly sigh, “Of course she’s here too… I should’ve known better.”
Liah’s twin sister, Karal. A brat and nothing else. Unlike Liah, Karal is on the shorter scale when it comes to height and her hair is way shorter also, with instead of purple accents at the end, it’s lighter green. That is the only way to differentiate the two, although they both have a mole or beauty mark under their respective eyes: Liah has hers under her left and Karal under her right. It’s hardly noticeable though because one. They’re hella small and two. Neither one of them would allow you to get that close and personal… unless you’re really lucky.
“Relax, Karal. I just wanted to check up on the poor kid… he did get clobbered by Drake after all.” Liah replies to Karal.
“We’re the same age…” I mutter.
“Fine! But make it quick! We shouldn’t be wasting time like this!” Karal exclaims.
“What’re you guys even doing outside of class?” I ask.
“We’re just gonna run some tests for our science experiment, not that you care anyway…” Liah answers.
“Aaaand, we’re Ms. Bregum's favourites! So she’d let us out even if it weren’t for that reason! Hah!” Karal raises.
“Ms Bregum’s favourites huh? Gee… What an honor…” I say sarcastically and in monotone.
“Why you-!”
“Enough, Karal! What happened to not wasting any more time?”
“I-... sorry sis…”
Liah looks back at me, “We’re heading off now.”
“Yeah sure.” I reply, scratching the back of my head.
The two continue to walk past me as if they haven’t even engaged conversation with me at all, not even acknowledging my existence afterwards. Although one is clearly nicer than the other, both are still very cold in nature. If Liah wasn’t with Karal all the time, she’d definitely be more approachable.
Oh well, it’s best I get back to class. Maybe I might have a little more time left to recollect and rewrite those notes. I’m not exactly head over heels to get back to class but if I get spotted by Mr. Cranmore again, it’ll be a one way trip to the ear clinic.
But before that, I need a can of Fuzz from the vending machine. It’s hard to think without one of those.
