Yes, the Pokemon do speak in this comic -- within limits. They understand each other, but humans only hear "Pokemon Speak." When they are chatting together or the reader needs to know a Pokemon's exact words, we'll switch to that instead of the Poke-sounds. Sometimes Pokemon's partners will be able to "understand" their Pokemon, but not in the same way they understand each other.
This was all inspired by the "Island of the Giant Pokemon" episode -- one of my top favorites -- where the Pokemon chatted with each other, and it was so darling and amusing.
Also the weekly updates will be mostly one page a week for now.
