"You brought a human. I hate humans. I'll kill him," the Nix said now with malice in its voice.
Its eyes and lips turned from white to a bloody red. Shiny silver daggers appeared from its pitch-black left hand. After doing five more quests my level had skyrocketed
"Human or kid like master Nagrom calls you. It's time to die" The creature soon broke into malicious laughter. I looked at Nagrom to see him calmly looking at me with a blunt face, arms crossed.
Every step the Nix took towards me made me clench my chest harder. My breathing became heavier it was like an invisible force was pushing me down, so this is the pressure they show off in comics and novels.
This is probably some joke of some sort. I never offended them so it s that or they just want to massacre humans and that means me. I'm the only human here.
I'll just have to act like I'm not terrified. I tried to straighten my back and stand tall, still gritting my teeth and clenching my chest. The Nix was now arm's length away from me.
It looked up at me with a fierce gaze while smiling with its currently blood-colored lips, and that's when it did something I didn't expect, The dagger disappeared from Nixie's hand, and it stretched out its right hand for me to take and then he said: "Nice to meet you, I am Norox, I'm a Nix."
the pressure stopped as well, so I stopped gritting my teeth and released my hand from my chest and took his hand and answered "N-nice to me you too" I looked in Nagrom's direction and asked.
"May I ask what this all was for?"
"It was a test to see if you have the courage of a hero or not? You have passed the first test. It's time for the second test. And of course, if you fail, I will not give you a weapon and you will have to leave. You have no conditions except these I mentioned," the dwarves answered.
If those are the only conditions, that means weapons and all sorts of trickery are eligible. But how does he know I am the hero? According to the main story, the royal capital didn't expose Mark as the hero. Not yet, at least.
Unanswered questions ran through my head and wanted to escape to my mouth, but I had a feeling the dwarf wouldn't answer.
Then the dwarf said, "The test will begin now. Norox will attack you barehanded. And, of course, he will hold back, at least to where he is using the strength of an average human. You will get a wooden stick."
Nagrom then clapped his hands two times, and I found myself in a transparent white space. Everything was completely white. A wooden stick was in my hands. And my opponent Norox was in front of me, his big eyes and lips with the same bloody red color as our first encounter. Even the thought of it gave me chills down my spine.
Now sprinting towards me at full speed, he threw a swift chop to my solar plexus and sent me flying with just that one hit. I landed hard on the transparent floor and stood there paralyzed by the blow. The pain was so intense I couldn't even scream in agony "This can't be the strength of an average human," I thought through gritted teeth.
Norox wasn't longer rushing towards me as he first did. He was walking towards me step by step, slowly but surely. While I just stood there helpless with some wood to defend myself from a beast, Norox was only a few meters away from me I expected him to one-step towards me, but instead of that, he pointed his palm towards me and the Nixie's thin arm stretched out and was on its way to me.
I tried to hit the extending arm with the wooden stick I had in my hands, but with no luck, the Norox's long arm broke my wooden stick on its way to my face. I felt his pitch-black palm cover my face. The arm increased not only in its length but also in size. His arm was now as thick as a tree's trunk.
Norox released his palm, but instead of doing the same thing over again with a greater force, he punched with his gigantic fist and it ended up getting my head crushed and blown away.
The last thing I saw before blacking out was the blood from my nose and mouth
My last thought was.
"How many times am I going to die in a so pitiful way. getting headshot or head crushed. I always die through my head.
After a split moment of darkness, I was now sitting on my behind in the same place where I was before the geezer transported sent Norox and me to the transparent white room.
"Welcome back Kid, you got clapped," Nagrom said while sipping on what I guessed to be tea, he was behaving like a master who is very disappointed in his student's loss, I barely knew this geezer so how can I be his student,
"Don't tell me things I know, you senile old bastard. And don't think you are my master." as soon as I shot that at him, I felt a heavy blow at right my cheek.
"Respect your elders, calling me geezer, old and is one thing but calling me senile is going far over the damn line you impudent little shit!" Nagrom roared I wanted to talk back but he cut me off.
"you should be happy that I'm letting you use the 'Lilith'. Teenagers these days think they are so high and mighty."
He has a point I, but who the hell names a transparent white room 'Lilith', and why is he acting all nonchalant and mighty, I thought.
I could feel my hair being blown away by his roars, the same thing that happened before he took me with him down to this underground room.
Norox only stood there in front of me, like he did before the two of us had been sent into 'Lilith,'
"you have failed the test. You will now train. Honestly, I am very disappointed at how degraded you are"
before I could lash out at the dwarf, I was back in the white transparent room where I got one shot to death by Norox.
This time it wasn't a wooden stick I got as a weapon it was a simple long sword. It had a black grip, a metallic-colored pommel and the cross-guard had the same color as the pommel.
Soon, a message appeared in front of me
[QUEST]:
[Swing the sword over your head 50 times]
And so I did it was heavy to just hold the sword, I needed to struggle to just make it be over my head, but I got used to it.
****
I had finished swinging the long sword times for each sword swing I felt the sword become lighter and easier and faster to swing for each swing:
[Reward]:
[You have received additional Strenght: 5]
[You have received additional agility: 5]
[Strenght: 8 → 13]
[Agility: 5 → 10]
[Appraisal: LVL1→ LVL2]
[You have leveled up]
[You have leveled up]
[You have leveled up]
[You are now lvl: 5]
[New skill unlocked: Scaredycat]
This must be one of those skills that sound lame but are good, there's always something like this in novels and comics, I thought. Me reading a lot of novels and comics is pretty handy in this world, soon another message flashed before my eyes.
[New category unlocked: Points]

I chose to continue and I saw my stats and how they had become:
[STATS]:
[lvl:5]
[Skills: Appraisal (LVL2), Seeker of Wisdom(E-rank), Scaredycat(C-rank)]
[Strength: 13]
[Agility: 10]
[Points: None]
And I was right, that the skill Scaredycat was a C-rank skill meant it had to be something okay or average, at the very least
I clicked the skill Scaredycat to see its information:
[Skill Info: Scaredycat]:
[Transport's 50m from any danger at your command.
Buff: Scaredycat buffs agility by: 15]
I closed the System window, and as I expected got more and more quests, after I got the Scaredycat skill, most of the training quest rewards were mostly based on strength and agility together, and some were durability, and after doing 30 more quests my strength and level looked like this
[STATUS]:
[Lvl: 49] (advanced by 44 from 5)
[Strength: 74] (advanced by 61 from 13)
[Agility: 79] (advanced by 74 from 5)
[Durability: 57] (advanced by 50 from 7)
I still wondered why Appraisal had: LVL instead of rank but
my body was also different I was still the same height as I was before around six feet, but I had gotten a pretty athletic physique in just some hours because of the system that almost scared me. And not to mention that I was sweating like hell.
I made up this technique where I swing the sword fast in random directions for a long time while moving I call this technique: scatter slice. Maybe I can hold my own against Norox now that I've got this exceptional power-up, but he probably has a higher level of strength and technique and surely more experience and more skills than me I thought "I'v
