“I really don’t blame you, Misha… I probably would have done the same thing,” Akira said as he leaned up against the doorway to Misha’s apartment. It had been a few weeks since the incident. Akira hadn’t seen Edward at all since then. Though through Misha he had found out that Edward hadn’t killed King, just severely injured him. Akira had immediately gone to find Misha after everything had happened. As he had expected Misha had been hurting a lot, less from the physical damage and more from the guilt that he had told on his best friend.
“You really think so?” Misha asked.
Neither Misha nor Akira had talked about what Misha had done until then, Misha didn’t want to talk about it. Akira was just scared that it would bring up the memories of that day. He didn’t want to relive it just as much as Misha felt responsible, “I’m positive,” Akira said and gave the other a small smile.
Misha looked over to Akira and Akira quickly turned away, he knew that look. It was the look of ‘now you need to talk about your thing as well.’ “Akira-“
“No. Don’t say it, I don’t… he lied to me. Well, I suppose it wasn’t a lie, but he should have told me. How could he let me fall in love with him? He killed-“Akira stopped and sighed, “He killed my parents Misha. Don’t you think it’s a bit messed up that I married him?”
“Well, in your defense, it’s not like you knew,” Misha said.
“Not funny.”
“Wasn’t trying to be.”
“Misha… do you… do you know a guy called Hiroki?”
“You mean the lawyer?”
Akira frowned, “the lawyer?”
“Yeah, tall, dark, and handsome. Hangs out with the kids on the street and um, actually I think he’s friends with your husband as well,” Misha said and shrugged “why do you ask?”
“I saw him, he’s the one that brought me to King,” he explained, “He’s the one that told King that Edward killed my parents…”
Misha went wide-eyed at that “Seriously? Are you sure? I mean, I would believe that he told King that Edward killed your parents, but to bring you to King. I just, I can’t believe that one.”
Akira looked even more confused than he had before with Hiroki “Wait, what?”
Misha shook his head, “sometimes he works with King, to help out kids that get under his grasp. King might blame Edward for him going to jail, but it was really Hiroki’s doing. He’s the one that convinced Edward to sell King out. That’s why I can’t believe he actually took you to King. There has to be a reason, Hiroki wouldn’t do something like that without a good reason,” he explained, “Hiroki is a good man. He’s helped a lot of kids. He’s trying to help me set up a counter gang to King’s,” he said, chuckling a bit, “not sure how well that’s going to work, but… I just can’t help wanting to get rid of gangs like that. To see good kids like you heading down the wrong path. So, I think you should at the very least talk to him about why he did what he did. I know how it sounds so please don’t lecture me.”
Akira frowned at Misha but nodded, he supposed he could give that a try “And why aren’t you saying this about Edward?” he finally asked.
“’Cuz I don’t know him and you are my best friend. Granted what Hiroki did to you was horrible, but I know him, so I can at the very least tell you that what happened isn’t like Hiroki, something had to be going on.” Misha nodded “Edward is just an ass as far as I’m concerned, no offense, since you know he’s your husband and all. But I hold no alliances to him.” Misha nodded and picked up his cell phone, “Hiroki’s number is in there. Feel free to give him a call.”
