Erin followed, he wasn't sure why he followed, but he did. He supposed there was no harm in going along with this insane joke that surely someone had to be playing on him. He was already going to look like an idiot. He followed Josiah back down the dock and to a rowboat and hopped in next to the man. Erin glanced back to the dock as Josiah ordered the other man in the boat to get them back to his ship. He suddenly wasn't so sure about following Josiah. He should have stayed ashore, but it was too late now.
The captain looked to Erin every now and then but stayed quiet until they reached his ship. He smiled as he saw it, never having really liked being on solid land. Even with that though, he was proud of his ship. He had earned it, with every single trip he took with his men, he earned his ship. So as he climbed up the rope ladder one of his men let down for him he was almost excited to show off his ship to this man he ran across. There was just something about this Erin Waters that made him want to get to know him more and Josiah only knew one way to do that and that was to take Erin to the place that Josiah was the most comfortable. In his cabin on his ship. Once he managed to get Erin on the ship he motioned for him to follow and follow Erin did. Man, Josiah had lucked out with this one. Normally they tended to put up a small bit of a fight when getting pulled onto the ship. Granted, Erin didn't seem to recognize who Josiah was. Something Josiah would fix soon enough.
Erin glanced around the ship as he followed the brunette man ahead of him. His eyes caught how well it was kept, the cannon's that lined the sides, and the men that seemed to just be laying about at the moment. His eyes also caught sight of all the men's eyes on him. They looked...hungry? Yeah, that was the best way to put it, hungry. He shuffled his way just a tad bit closer to their boss, maybe if he looked like he was close to the man they would leave him alone. However, he nearly tumbled into the man as Josiah stopped suddenly to open a door and step aside for Erin to enter the room.
Erin looked into the room before he moved inside, taking in Josiah's frame once more. The room was filled with jars. Each one was labeled with different kinds of concoctions he could only assume were supposed to be medicine. "I told you, I don't need a doctor, can you please just give me my book back?" he asked, holding his hand out again for the book, only to be surprised when he found handed over.
"I think I'll be the judge of that," said a blonde man coming from another door in the back of the room, "sit on the bed and relax. If Josiah brought you here, he's decided to have you in good hands," the man chuckled and moved to sit on a stool next to the bed he motioned Erin into.
Erin obliged the man and sat down. It wasn't like this doctor would find anything wrong with him either, he just hoped that this joke wasn't going to go too far and this man was going to bring out the leeches. "There is nothing wrong with me," Erin said, once again.
The doctor looked from Erin to Josiah, "And what do you say is wrong with him?" he asked Josiah.
"Not sure, but he was ranting and raving about how it wasn't 1704 and it really got Ms. Jones in a tizzy," Josiah said, giving a small chuckle. "The town's doctor couldn't find anything wrong, but Mr. Waters here insists he doesn't have something called amnesia. Though I'm very curious if you knew what that was and also what year you thought it was," Josiah said, looking back over to Erin.
The doctor shook his head at the amnesia question and started to look Erin over.
"2021..." Erin said, almost mumbling as he fidgeted against the doctor's fingers on him. "How-How do you not know what amnesia is?" he asked.
The doctor looked up slightly and shrugged, "because I don't, and I know a lot of diseases, though the fact that you think it's over 300 years in the future is concerning. This sounds like a problem with the mind, not the body, captain."
Josiah laughed, "oh I knew my hunches were right, seems your quite the crazy one, I love it. Now, since you have humored me...it's time I hold up my end of the bargain," he said and headed back out of the room only for Erin to hear him yelling at the men out there to raise anchor and set sail.
"Wait- did he just say-" Erin quickly got up and attempted to head outside, only to have the doctor struggle to hold him back, forcing him to be too late as the ship started to move forward.
Erin was just a normal boy. He lives in a small town, he has a mom and a dad, he has a job that he's comfortable with. There is nothing really noteworthy about Erin. He's just your typical boy who likes to read. At least that's what he was until he one day opened up a book about gay pirates in the local bookstore and got transported back to the swashbuckling days of the same book he opened.
What is he going to do when he meets the captain of a pirate ship that takes a shine to him? One filled with equally attractive men that all seem to be just a little bit too friendly with each other.
