“Stop! You’ll kill them!”
Character A barely heard the other person shout. They could no longer feel any sharp pain, only numbing pain from their now broken arm. The blood dripping, started to blind A.
Whoever was holding A down still didn’t let go, but kept digging their claws.
“SO WHAT IF THEY DIE!! THEY TRIED TO KILL MY MATE!!” The significant other shouted.
“WE NEED THEM ALIVE!!” Someone argued back.
“WHY?! I SHOULD HAVE KILLED THEM EARLIER!!” The significant other yelled.
Finally releasing the broken arm, they shifted towards A’s right arm. Taking the opportunity, Character A moved out of the grip and turned over and kicked the SFO (significant other) in the chest. Then quickly moving to punch them in the jaw, landing a hard blow. Not wasting any time, A bolted but didn’t get far and landed in someone’s arm.
They grabbed A and held them, but not hard enough to hurt them. The person held A close, almost in a protective way. Still struggling to get out, A kept hitting the person.
“Stop. Stop it! You’ll make it worse.” The person pointed out.
Character A was using their broken arm as well as their good arm to get away, not realizing it since the adrenaline. That is until the person pointed it out.
“Relax. You punched him pretty good.” The person stated, “We’ll keep ‘em separated from you but he is right. You did try to kill his mate.”
A tried to see who was talking but the blood from their head wouldn’t let them see. A started to grow limp, but kept fighting it. They didn’t want to black out again.
“Hey calm down. I’ll keep you safe, okay? You can sleep, you need it anyways.”
Character A wondered why this person was being so kind. Then made a guess, this person was probably the one who gave A the extra blanket. Oddly feeling safe with this person, A followed suit and let sleep take over.
---
This time Character A woke up in a hospital bed, with bandages around their torso, their left arm in a cast and bandages around their head. Fresh pair of clothes, a navy blue long sleeve, that was only long on the right arm, with black pants. The clothing was big on A, but fit anyways.
There was a beeping sound of the heart monitor - that was connected to A - and the ticking of a clock. Looking around, the curtains were pulled back. Letting in the setting sun, a beautiful orange red color. There was a cup of water on the nightstand next to A along with a small tray of food, a single pink peony and another note. It read:
Don’t worry, no one is going to bother you until later tomorrow. Eat some food, drink the water and get some sleep. I’ll come back to check up on how you are doing tomorrow.
The handwriting was nice and A figured it was the Kind Person from earlier.
Still not hungry, they took the cup of water and drank it all. Placing the cup back on the nightstand, A looked over at the flower. Admiring it. They weren’t used to this kindness nor receiving gifts. It was strange but a good strange.
Following the Kind Person’s advice once again, A layed down; but shifted so they weren’t lying on the cast.
Character A was taught to not take in the full of the injury or else it would get into someone’s head. Always being something to prevent a mission from being completed. A was still on the mission, but figured The People thought that A was dead and wouldn’t care about the mission anymore. Another one might be sent out to take care of the mate but who cares. A certainly did not and closed their eyes, letting the sleep state take over.
---
“Hey… Wake up. I brought you some food.”
A groaned, slowly sitting up. Rubbing their eyes, A saw the Kind Person holding a plate of food.
“You didn’t eat any yesterday, so I thought that you would want warm food.” The Kind Person set down the plate on the nightstand, “Nothing is poisoned, I made it at home.”
The Kind Person pulled up a chair and sat down next to A. They pulled open the drawer in the nightstand, picked out a book and started reading it. Leaving Character A to eat the food.
A looked over at the plate of food and wondered what it was. Normally they get plain, grey, mushy slush.
Picking up the plate, bringing it over to their lap; A picked up a fork and poked at the food. It was round, brown and flat but poofy. There was a brown liquid dripping down the circles. Something thin and crispy looking along with yellow mushy stuff.
“It’s pancakes with syrup, eggs and bacon.” KP(Kind Person) pointed out.
Still not knowing what it is, A picked up the yellow mushy stuff and bit into it. Not really liking how it tasted nor the texture. Similar resemblance to the plain, grey mushy slush.
Forcing the yellow mush down, A picked up the thin, crispy food and bit it. It tasted better and was still warm, A liked this one. Now trying the brown, thick liquid; it was sweet. The round, brown poofy food was also good. A first tried it without the liquid but then discovered they were better together.
Character A inhaled the plate of food, leaving the eggs alone. Really intrigued by what the other food tasted like. They had never had anything other than the slush to eat, The People claiming it’s better for them.
“I see you enjoyed my cooking.” Kind Person said, putting down the book.
“Don’t like eggs though.”
A cringed at the food, making KP laugh.
“Okay okay, no eggs.” KP chuckled. “How are you feeling?”
Character A just stared at the Kind Person.
“You don’t talk do you?”
A blinked, debating whether or not to answer. The People would surely find out if they answered but then again the Kind Person did say A would be safe now.
A shook their head, taking the chance.
“Can you talk or you are not allowed to?”
A nodded yes and then no.
“So I can only ask yes or no questions.” KP stated out loud, thinking. “Are you still in pain?”
A shook their head no, an automatic lie to keep the mind of the injuries.
“No? You sure?”
A nodded yes.
“You still hungry?”
Character A sat there thinking, normally only one bowl of grey slush was given every few days. So A could go another three days without food, but this new feeling of wanting to try something out was nagging A to say yes.
Character A shook their head no.
“Hmmmm okay…” Kind Person trailed off.
They both sat there in silence. KP thinking of more questions to ask and A making a plan to escape.
Looking around the room, A could either walk through the door, go out the window or crawl through the vent.
The door was out of the question and the window wasn’t a good idea; since A couldn’t see the ground. The vent was the only option, but where would it lead was a question. That could only be answered by crawling through it.
Later, A will go later.
We love Kind Person!! ~ ( ^ . ^ ) ~
