Concord PoV
I entered detention to once again find Andrea sitting there, “Hey.” I greeted.
“Hello Concord.” she smiled.
“Why’re you here?” I questioned, plopping down at the desk next to her and pulling out the book about familiers I had found in the homeroom classroom.
“Still working on training your familiar?”
She avoided my question. I thought. “No, Snowy’s trained. He does whatever I tell him, my problem is I can’t get him to turn back into a phoenix. He’s just stuck as a ring.” I explained angrily.
“Have you tried the normal chant?”
“Yeah, but it didn’t work because technically he’s still in this world, just as a ring. Whereas most familiars come from the second plane.” I flipped through the pages to the chapter I was on.
“You sure know a lot about magic for a beginner.” she laughed.
“Well I like reading, and I have a lot of time and stuff. Although I should probably work on that spell for class.” I grumbled.
“What’s the spell?” Andrea said.
“It’s a summoning spell, apparently it’s pretty simple. So I should be able to do it, I’m just worried that I’m gonna summon something dangerous.” I mumbled unhappily.
“Just think about what you want to summon, and say the spell.” she smiled, patting my head gently, “Also once you get to be more advanced, you should be able to chant the spell in your head and summon the object.”
I nodded, at that moment the thing I wanted was Snowy, “I beckon you to my side, for you have no choice but to obey me.” I declared. There was a slight silver glimmer, but then the ring appeared about an inch above my hand, falling into my palm.
“Really? You just summoned your ring.” she laughed quietly.
“I just thought that if I summoned Snowy, he would appear as him and not the ring.” I whined, looking up at Andrea sadly.
She gave me a pained look and ruffled my hair, “Don’t make that face, it’ll be alright. Just research it, eventually you’ll find a solution. You can always start by asking Ms. Commerce.” she offered, stroking my hair. I pushed her hand away, and went back to my familiar book. “You’re cute.”
I felt my face heat up at her words, “D-Don’t lie, i-it’s not cool.” I chuckled.
“Why would I lie, lying is for losers.” she joked. She leaned into my ear, “I really do think you’re cute, Concord.” she whispered into my ear, she bit down on my earlobe, dragging it down then letting go. I shot up, covering my ear and falling down.
“What the hell?!” I exclaimed angrily. I sat awkwardly unable to stand for some unknown reason.
“Gonna get up, sweetness?” She questioned with a grin.
I growled slightly, “I-It seems I can’t?”
“Hm? Too infatuated with my beauty?” She laughed.
“What?! Of course not!” I yelled. I felt myself getting lifted up, “H-Hey what’re you doing?”
“Um, this is all you cutie.” She grinned.
The air around me circled and flipped the pages of my book with it’s intensity, I was plopped in my seat in a less than gracious way. “What the fuck?” I declared in a confused state. “What did you do?!”
“Nothing, like I said. This is all you.”
“Ya know, this happened in Spells too.” she gave me a inquisitive look, “I mean, Sylvia was about to go somewhere that she shouldn’t. For some reason the air, like brought her back to her seat. That’s why I’m here, Ms. Delilah thought that I did it!” I explained angrily.
“Let’s skip detention, maybe we can find something in the Library.” Andrea offered.
“We have a library?!” I exclaimed in a surprised yet happy tone.
She chuckled warmly at me, looking down. She patted my head like I was a child, “Well of course we do! No school can function without a library cutie.” she smiled.
I brushed her hand off, “My name is Concord.” I mumbled.
“Then, can I call you Connie?” she questioned with a laugh.
“Um, I guess. No one’s ever called me that, you’re welcome to if you want. Just don’t call me cutie, or sweetness, it’s weird.” I explained, packing up my stuff.
“Ok, Connie.” she patted my head as she spoke.
“Ugh, weirdo! Where’s the library?” I asked, looking up at her tentatively.
“Down the hall, and to the left. Then right, then left, then right again.” She explained vaguely. I felt my happiness boil over and I blinked to get my senses back. I then found myself in a massive room full of all kinds of book.s. There were a few people around but they didn’t seem to notice me. I chuckled awkwardly, scratching my head. I felt a tap on my shoulder, I swiveled around and saw Andrea. “Hi.” she greeted, stifling laughter.
“Hi, what’s going on? How’d I get here?” I whispered my question.
“You teleported here. Although I don’t know how you did, because you shouldn't have learned that spell yet.” she said, tapping her chin with her finger. “What were you doing before this?”
“Well let’s see, um, you were explaining how to get to the library. Then I got all excited and happy, and I blinked and then I was here.” I described.
“Well from what you’ve told me, it seems your abilities are tied to your emotions. So maybe your brain just really wanted to be here.” I shrugged and went to what seemed like the front desk.
