A broken cup, an empty cookie jar, mud on the carpet, “who did it ?” “it wasn’t me !” Here we go again, my daughter will do something, and when I ask, it’s not her, why can’t kids just be honest? I’m a single mother of my seven year old, Mandy, she’s a good student, she’s friendly, she helps me around the house, but she never owns up to her wrong doings, “it was you mommy ! I saw you!” well that’s a new one, “don’t even try kiddo, I was at work the whole day “ Mandy got even louder “ no you weren’t “ “ that’s enough ! go to your room!” she seemed hurt as she stomped up stairs, I don’t have time for this, in a few minutes an electrician will be here to install some cameras, the house is empty most of the time, so I wanted to feel some kind of security
the next day, as I was looking over the video record, I saw Mandy coming down the stairs, going into the kitchen, and just, throwing stuff around, why is she doing that ?, well, I got you on tape now kid, just as she left, I saw, myself, get into the kitchen as well, but, I didn’t go there last night! , I saw myself breaking dishes, and laughing out loud, i got back home immediately, I paced around as I heard Mandy’s school bus stop in front of the house, I got out running and hugged her, once inside, I locked us both in my room as I looked over the camera footage, it showed both of us walking around the house and making a mess, then, I heard a knock on my door, “mommy ? are you there ?” I held Mandy in my arms “ why did you pick me up early today ? “ what ? “ you said you had something to show me and just left “ I heard a giggle from Mandy, I looked down, as she stared at me with her white empty eyes “ I told you it wasn’t me”
