“Not this sh*t again!” Mia blurted out. The other Gatekeepers sighed as they looked up at the sky.
The lights turned red as the sky turned dark blue. Ominous, flashing error messages appeared in the sky. The space-time continuum was cracking again!
Camelia cast columns of light to keep cracks from getting any larger. “It didn’t hold… again!” She blurted out. The other meta across space-time used their powers, but it still wasn’t enough.
Another warning flashed in the sky: “!!WARNING!! SPACECON 2!!”

“Darnit…” Paige thought when she stepped away from her office desk to the window to view the ominous lights and hue of the sky. “I haven’t finished writing my first report about the space-time continuum crashing!” Only an hour had passed from the first crash to the next.

Part 1
The Gatekeepers immediately stepped in to combine their powers, and harnessed the powers of the three superweapons they had. The onlookers looked on in terror from the sheer concentration of space-time warping magic that the meta promptly gathered to the area, and escorted everyone else out.
“Where are we going?” Katt nervously asked.
“You need to get out of this joint. That’s too much power for nearly anyone but the metas and the Gatekeepers to withstand.” Cam calmly explained. As calmly as she could, but there was still a tinge of worry in her voice. Would the Gatekeepers’ power with only 3 of the superweapons be enough?
“Whoa!” Melody exclaimed when a blue shard from the sky fell near her. Camelia cast columns of hard light from her hands to deflect nearby falling shards.
She put her hands down and stopped casting after a few minutes. “They’re stopped falling.” She and the rest of the group glanced at the sky, and rejoiced. It was back to normal. The Gatekeepers saved space-time from collapsing!
“They can be fearsome, and… not always the best team…” Camelia said bluntly. “However, when space-time is threatened, they’ll step up to save it.” She said more sincerely.
The rejoicing didn’t last long.
“As the bearer of bad news again, something still isn’t right…” Kayla nervously said.
Part 2
Last time on— does a story this short need a recap? The narrator is giving one anyways!
Space-time was collapsing again, and the Gatekeepers couldn’t yet identify the cause, but their power and the power of the three superweapons they still had was enough to stave off another collapse.
They didn’t have to investigate for long, because when they looked beyond the fourth wall for clues, the answer was immediately in front of them.
Branding with watercolor and rococo aesthetics abounded. “League of Paine ~ Our Fantastical Reign of Time and Space” the title read.
“Reshaping the timeline was just the beginning!” A voice loudly and confidently gloated as a large, glowing pink swirl of magic appeared in front of the Gatekeepers. Legionnaire Imperatrix warped again! Her voice could loudly be heard across the area, and she projected her presence onto many large holographic screens that she materialized.
“You were right again!” Katt exclaimed to Kayla.
“I have a talent for this.” Kayla shrugged.
While the group was seeing the conflict from afar, Legionnaire Imperatrix boasted in front of the Gatekeepers.
“Your egregious lack of subtlety is most appreciated by us.” Thutmose said, deadpan.
“You’re making arresting you so f**king easy!” Mia added and smirked in anticipation that she’d get her superweapon back. “Soon, I’ll get it back!”
“Not cool, *Ima*.” Aiko said in disappointment. “I usually like when someone goes above and beyond in their work, but taking over from beyond the fourth wall and putting space-time at stake? You’re under arrest.” She added.
“Thine hold over space-time shalt be namo, and shaltwe not rewe thee!” (“Your hold over space-time shall be no more, and we shall not show you mercy!”) Ragnar added.
Thutmose, Aiko and Ragnar charged up their superweapons. Mia cast space-time warping magic. It and the Gatekeepers’ superweapons were pointed towards Legionnaire Imperatrix.
The large holographic screens showed fear in her eyes. The onlookers were scared.
“Under SPACECON 2, we can use some of our power to attack, and it’ll be enough— you’re outnumbered!” Mia boasted.
Legionnaire Imperatrix’s fear quickly subsided though, and she started laughing. “Good luck! There won’t be any consequences because this isn’t canon!” She boasted. “Do you need to help each other admit the truth?” She snarked.
The Gatekeepers hid their feelings of shock and were talking among each other for a few moments until they faced her again.
“We fully acknowledge this incident is not canon, and thus the punishment we could mete out to you would not have a lasting impact.” Thutmose began to explain. The other Gatekeepers were holding back their laughter.
“What’s so funny?” Legionnaire Imperatrix asked.
“The acronym of thine series name!” Ragnar answered.
“You tried to add the ‘Our’ in the title to be a little less obvious, but ‘Fantastical Reign of Time and Space?’ That nearly spells out ‘FARTS’!” Aiko added, laughing.
“That’s still ‘F-R-T-S’!” Legionnaire Imperatrix argued, but she was outnumbered, and the onlookers joined in the laughing.
“That still sounds like ‘FARTS’!” The other Gatekeepers said, laughing.
After a pause, Legionnaire Imperatrix conceded. “I give up on taking over the entire series.” She said dejectedly.
After a few moments, the surroundings started to pixelate and change colors until the branding of the series was reverted back. “Magical Renegades ~ Anathema to Commonsense” the title read, as it should.
Another announcement appeared in the sky, displayed in yellow: “Space-time is now under SPACECON 3. No imminent threats detected, but remain guarded.”
“Well, I still took over the S.O.C and the timeline, and stole one of your superweapons, and you couldn’t prosecute me! As long as I don’t cause SPACECON 2 or 1, you can hardly do anything!” Legionnaire Imperatrix gloated again.
“Until you f**k up, we’ll take any small victory we can over you.” Mia said back.
