It was a good thing I went to visit Nonna for lunch. Lunch turned into her helping me shop for everything I needed. Bedding and clothing and groceries. I dropped her back off at the dinner before she could send me home with one of everything on the menu. I loved her from a distance. She was overbearing and bossy. She hadn't known about my rough childhood until I was living with my uncle. She smothered me with love every time I saw her if I wanted it or not.
Getting back to the complex it was after dark. Shopping with Nonna had been an all-day event. We had gone to several shops and even left town to go to one of the larger cities. Parking my car in the garage I sighed. Now I had to track all this shit to my wing and there was a lot of it. Popping the trunk I grabbed all the bags I could with one hand and took them towards my wing. I did this a few more times until I had all the bags in my wing. heading back down to the garage I made sure to tuck my sunglasses back in the holder and lock the car.
The halls were pretty quiet which wasn't that odd, but it was at the same time. I rounded the hall by my wing and smacked right into Jackson and Zev. Before I could say anything Jackson slapped his hand over my mouth. He leaned down and whispered in my ear.
"Creed is missing. He was notified about having to stay with Cade and he lost his shit."
I nodded slowly. I knew why they were here. They presumed Creed was in my wing. Which was naturally what I was also thinking at this point.
"If he is my wing, I'll deal with him. I'll shoot you a text." I whispered back at Jackson.
Pinching the bridge of my nose, I walked back to my wing and waited for the door to unlock. Pulling it opened I waited for it to lock behind me before I flicked on the light in the hallway. I had tucked all the bags just right inside, Stepping over them I walked right into the kitchen. The coffee pot was flicked on, Creed was most definitely here. I sent a message to both Jackson and Maddox letting them know he was here and just to leave him alone. I would deal with it.
I set to putting everything away in the places it belonged. I wasn't happy Creed was here, but if he was that was because he felt like it was a safe spot to hide. I knew letting him stay with me was going to be a full-time thing. I had been stupid to even say he couldn't stay here, He wasn't going to go willingly. Idiot.
Looking in the living room he wasn't in there, so there were only a few more places he could be. My bedroom, the spare bedroom ( where he was supposed to be sleeping), the bathroom, or my home office. The office and the spare room were two I could cross off right away because he didn't stay in the spare and the office was of no value to him unless he desired to look at numbers.
I checked the bathroom first on the odd chance he was in there. Just from checking the light under the door was off. He wasn't in there. He was in my room, no doubts now.
My room was at the very back of my wing. Quietly I opened the door. Creed was passed out on his side in my bed. There were a couple of bottles of pain medication on the side table and a glass of water. It was clear he popped a few and passed out. Sadly I knew I was going to have to wake the giant that was already mad at me. He wasn't supposed to be sleeping on either of his sides. He was supposed to be on his back. Grabbing the laundry out of the bathroom, I made sure to grab all the new bedding and clothing as well. I tossed them all in the washer and turned the dial to the proper setting. But I left the lid up so that all I would have to do in the morning was throw soap in and close the lid.
I carefully took my suit off and put on sweat pants and a t-shirt. I waited until my shoulder to stop throbbing to go try to deal with the Creed situation.
Walking towards the bed I wasn't trying to be quiet about anything, but I also didn't want to startle him because he might freak out. Reaching out I shook him lightly, which was a lot harder than it sounded. After ten minutes of trying the get him to wake up, I gave up and sat on the floor to catch my breath.
"Alexi?"
"On the floor."
I heard the bed move until I was looking up at him. His eyebrows were scrunched together, He was no doubt in pain after sleeping like that. His fault though.
Standing up. I tried to go grab the new pillows but I found Creed's hand around my wrist.
"Let go I have to go grab something."
He let me go. I let out a deep breath when I left my room. I snagged the new pillows that were on the couch and grabbed pillowcases that would fit the four new pillows on the way back to the bedroom. Creed was sitting up against the headboard when I got back in the bedroom.
"Shit, I should let Maddox----"
"He is already aware you are here."
"Oh. You told him?"
"Of course I did. I come back and they said you lost your shit when you were told to stay with Cade."
"Fucking Cade man, I'm not staying with that lose fucking canon."
"Creed that man is your-----"
"Nah, Maddox is my boss, Cade is the angry babysitter."
I sighed. This man was something else.
"What did you do today? Maddox says you went out, You haven't gone out in a while."
"I needed some stuff. Bedding, clothing, food. I took Nonna with me, she wanted to spend some time with me, we left town. I bought more shit than I needed and I'm positive I don't know how to cook half of the shit."
"I'm sure we can figure it out."
"I'm a grown-ass man, I'll figure it out. If I kill you or give you food poisoning, oh well then I guess."
"I can help-----"
"Nope. Don't worry about it."
"Alexi!"
"Don't raise your voice at me, I'll drag you to Cade's myself."
"I didn't mean to yell at you, I was frustrated you were injured and were only---"
"You were frustrated! I was fucking beside myself wondering if you were going to die because of me! You let your stupid feelings get in the way and you almost got killed because of them! Two fucking weeks I sat there and watched over you to make sure you would be ok! For what Creed? This shit? Fuck."
I turned to leave my room again.
"Alexi wait!"
"No Creed, I'm going to bed. I'll sleep in the spare room. Don't try to move, and sleep on your back."
