Meeting Room A. April 19, 20XX. Thursday. After school.
“What the fuck?!” multiple shouts are heard from the parents and the school staff because of Mr. Pshmelba’s announcement.
“How could you?!”
“What kind of person are you?”
“You’re a fucking predator!”
“See you in court!”
“Woah, chill. I thought we’re already done with the stealing crap? Is there anything we must discuss first before we proceed?”
“Yeah, we have. But not here, in court! See you in court, you pedophile!” Mrs. Parvejo drags her daughter out the door but stopped after hearing what Mr. Pshmelba says.
“If not, then are you admitting that your daughter stole my sister’s necklace?!” He shouts very loudly. People from outside the room peak their heads inside the opened door. “I think we need to discuss how my family’s heirloom is now in your daughter’s neck, Madam Bella!”
“What kind of nonsense is that? My Ella is not a thief!”
“Then explain to me why my sister’s heirloom is hanging on her neck. Or are you going to come up with another bullshit again?” He walks toward the pale-faced Ella and tries to touch the necklace but is pushed out of the way by every grown person in the room. Sir Eugene closes the door after shooing the bystanders.
“Maniac!”
He is reprimanded by the Dean and Dr. Cortes while the others try to calm the wailing Ella. He, however, does not show guilt but instead, laughs out loud which earns him a punch to the gut.
This time, it is Fedina who shouts her lungs out. “She stole it and I reported it to Sir Eugene but he didn’t believe me because he told me that I would never have such a thing!”
Everyone stops whatever they are doing after hearing the gut-wrenching shout from the ever been silent student. Her tears continuously fall down her eyes as she shakes. She tries to stop the flow by wiping her eyes repeatedly but it does not change anything instead, her silent cries become louder until it turns into the most pitiful cry they witnessed today.
“I told her... hik! I told her that it’s my bethroral hik! Hik! They didn’t listen… Sir Eugene didn’t listen huhuhu hik! A’pa will punish me! I’ll disappoint Am’ma. Hik! Hik!” she rambles on.
They subconsciously let go of Fedina’s brother to embrace his crying little sister.
“Sir Eugene said that it wasn’t mine but it’s mine and when I showed him a picture of me wearing it he told me that I probably stole it from someone else so it’s okay if they take it from me because it’s not mine in the first place. But it’s mine, brother. It’s mine!”
“I know it’s yours. It’s our heirloom and I know it yours.” He is now also shaking visibly, but his is from the anger he is feeling. “I’ll make them pay.”
He sits Fedina back on her seat and looks Ella in the eye. “Did you know what you did?”
“It’s mine. It’s mine!”
“It’s not, it’s my family’s heirloom and if truly is yours then you shall wed tonight!”
“Why would I do that?! I’m not gay, I’m not a freak!”
“That’s a betrothal gift!”
“…W-what?”
“It’s given to the spouses of our Head’s children.”
“I-I don’t… I don’t understand.”
“I told you! I told you that’s mine! I told you that’s from my Am’ma! I even gave you a diamond pearl in exchanged but instead of giving that back to me, you also took the diamond pearl!”
“I didn’t! You, liar!”
“I’m telling the truth! Look at her clip, it’s the same as your bead, brother. You can examine it and you’ll know. I even confronted her in the middle of the class during recess and she literally told me that I didn’t deserve to have such things because I’m just a tramp.” She lets everything inside her out. “Ask everyone individually and you’ll be bound to know either the inconsistency of their alibis trying to cover Ella and her friends up or someone might say the truth. Sir Eugene is the person I told the moment they stole my betrothal necklace and he just brushed me off. Don’t deny, Sir. I told you in the Teachers’ Office and there were people present. Although you talked to me outside and told me that I was lying, I asked for your help when others were around and they would tell.”
“… Fedina-”
“That’s mine.”
“Nonsense! My daughter isn’t a thief. She’s my daughter, I raised her as a loving, kind hearted woman. And besides, we’re rich. We don’t need your scraps. Here, take it off, darling!” She recklessly tries to remove the necklace, choking her daughter in the process. She attempts to throw the necklace away when she gets a good glimpse of it, she unconsciously gulps as the hand that has the necklace trembles. “… How sure are you that it is yours? Where’s yours? I need evidence.” She confidently taunts the Pshmelbas.
“I have one.” He fishes his phone out of his pocket and calls someone.
“Who are you trying to call? Why are you calling? You can’t call anyone. I forbid you to call anyone.” The younger Pshmelba panicky says.
Thinking that they finally have the upper hand against the two Pshmelba, everyone eases their minds.
Dr. Cortes also uses his phone to call someone, or rather report a crime. He exaggerates and tells the person on the other line that someone harassed two students, he even details the groping incident and how they are currently locked up in a room because they are afraid that the perpetrator would escape if they open the door. He also describes how scared and traumatized the victims who are also locked inside the room are.
The siblings didn’t pay them any mind, the older now stroking the hair of his hysterical sister while he patiently talks on the phone.
“Yes, yes. The one crying, yes. Our daughters are so scared right now, please hurry up.” Dr. Cortes uses Fedina’s crying voice on his skit.
