This time the night came, when Hiru and his friends found a mountain clearing. Shokai fell asleep as soon as they stopped to rest, so they took the onigiri out of their backpacks and nourished themselves before continuing their trek.
"She would be angry, because we didn't wake her up" noticed Naori.
"She didn't have to fall asleep" said Sasaki. "By the way, do you think there are animals here?"
"I don't know, but I want to eat some meat" Hiru streched lazily and laid down on the ground. "Best roasted on a fire and covered with mushroom sauce~"
"What's wrong, Sadori?" Miyaku asked softly, looking at the light dragon, who narrowed his eyes as if he was looking for something.
Or someone.
"I can feel someone's presence" he said, putting an onigiri in Hiru's bag.
"Who's?" asked Sasaki.
Sadori made a ball of light on his hand and lit up the grass. He saw a shadow in a shape of a dragon, which changed into it's human form.
"Run" he said.
"Why, what are you talking about?" Hiru stood up and looked at the shadow. "What's this?"
"Oh, I'm sorry that I interrupt" the shadow dragon appeared out of the blue. "But I am someone, not something. Not like you."
"Who are you?" asked Hiru, ignoring Sadori, who tried to take him away from the other dragon.
"Ryushi" the dragon introduced himself. "The shadow dragon. But I can be your cause of death."
"I told you that you should run!" shouted Sadori, taking off his human form. "Quickly!"
"Oh, Sadori" Ryushi also took off his human form. "Well, you're scaring your new friends. By the way, pixie, nixie, fallen and two werewolves. They're all mutts just like you."
"You're the mixed breed as well" noticed Naori, taking off his human form. "What do you want?"
"Informatios" explained Ryushi, frowning. "Wait. Do you have a brother, fallen?"
"Why are you asking?" Naori pointed his spear to Ryushi.
"One of yours joined me recently, little bug" Ryushi said. "And now let me talk to your new friend without any useful talent."
Sadori jumped back as Ryushi tried to hit him with his paw.
"Shokai, wake up!" Sasaki shook his friend, dodging Ryushi's tail.
"Shokai..." repeated Ryushi, who didn"t care about his hind limbs bound with vines by Miyaku or Naori trying to stab him with a spear.
And he had fun with Hiru running aroun with a dagger.
"It's a common name, but I have a feeling that your old friend is looking for you. I think he misses you."
"What do you mean?" asked Shokai, who finally woke up, blinking in confusion.
Sadori pushed Ryushi as he lunged at him.
"Come on, Sadori! Tell me, where Ayame Kessho is and I'll make it up to you by leaving you alive until I could make the new world!"
"Get out of here!" Sasaki took his natural form.
"Or what?" Ryushi laughed, pinning Sadori to the ground with his paw. "What are you gonna do to me, doggie?"
"I'll bite you" replied Sasaki. "Om om. And your existence will vanish."
"You wouldn't dare" Ryushi frowned.
"Do you want to make a bet?" Sasaki asked as he walked over to the shadow dragon. "You can always kill me before I do."
"I could. But I don't want to" said Ryushi, taking off into the air. "Wasting darkness magic on a lame human offspring like you would be kind of a sin. And if I crush you, I can get hurt by your fangs. Not the nicest prospects."
"And the prospect of a dagger in your paws suits you?" Hiru leapt forward, but Naori drew him back.
"Stupid little pixie" Ryushi smirked. "You'd better keep an eye on that firefly so I don't hurt him more seriously next time."
Ryushi vanished in the air. Sadori sighed and took on his human form.
"You're hurt" noticed Miyaku, grabbing his hand. "Your arm is all in scratches."
"It's nothing" Sadori put a hand on a wound and closed his eyes.
A snow-white light flashed and the arm was healthy again after a short while.
"You couldn't do that back then?" asked Shokai.
"I had too little energy back then" explained Sadori, heading towards the cave. "Come on. It's getting cold and wind is blowing harder. Traveling in such conditions is pointless."
"Sadori is right!" nodded Hiru and ran to the dragon. "And don't worry about that shadow creeper. We chased him away."
"He'll be back."
"Why do you think so?"
"He always comes back" replied Sadori, entering the cave. "Like nightmares."
