When the noctilucas and Onisakura walked towards the exit from the forest, they heard a dull sound of a falling body.
"Sabu!" called Kakeru, who turned back first.
She ran to him and put a hand on his forehead.
"Girls, he has a fever!"
"Again?" sighed Onisakura.
"There is no point in going any further" said Yakouchuu. "We're setting up a camp here."
"But there is no place here" noticed Kyoukou, but at that moment the roots of a few trees came out of the ground and these trees trotted several meters and planted in other parts of the forest.
"It is now" said Onisakura. "We can start."
"Great, Oni-chan~" said Yakouchuu, making Onisakura embarrassed.
After setting up the tent, the girls put Sabukai in a sleeping bag and covered him with a blanket. He was very pale and mumbled something in his sleep.
"It's getting worse" said Kakeru, putting cold compress on Sabukai's head. "I haven't seen him in this condition for a long time."
"I'll make some medicine" said Onisakura and placed the cauldron over the fire. "I hope the herbs will get him back on his feet."
"Thank you" Kakeru smiled slightly and closed the tent.
Yakouchuu sat next to Onisakura and looked at her with curiousity.
"Oni?"
"Hm?"
"I was right, wasn't I?" asked noctiluca. "He's gonna die."
"Yes" nodded Onisakura, pouring herbs into the cauldron. "Maybe in a week, maybe in two. Or even tomorrow. I don't know. I said that this medicine would get him back on his feet, but it could only, if it was just a cold or a flu. But it isn't."
"I wasn't comforted by that..." muttered Yakouchuu.
Onisakura poured the medicine into the cup and stood up.
"Done?" asked Kyoukou, leaning out of the tent. "Because Sabukai's condition is getting worse and worse."
"Done" Onisakura admitted, handing her the cup.
Yakouchuu added some cold water to it to cool the stock a little.
Sabukai drank his medicine with difficulty and fell back on the pillow. He was breathing hard. Onisakura gritted her teeth in nervousness. If this goes on, he won't be dying in a week, but in an hour!
The nixie sat beside the tent and looked at the sky. They have to do something, but she can't do anything more. She knows herbs, but not as well as other forest species and offsprings. She hadn't lived in Midomori for years, she hadn't even been here for years, because of her father's family. News about new potions didn't reach her and old recipes slowly faded from her memory, if she hadn't used them for a long time.
Onisakura looked inside the tent. She looked at the winged and realized that the only one thing can help here - the earth magic. But not magic of mixing the right herbs, but that higher magic that only dragons have. And earth dragons know it best.
But where they can meet the earth dragon now? Is there any chance they will find one, when they go looking for help?
The nixie looked at the middle one of the noctilucas. She thought they were thinking the same thing.
"We have to go and find some help" said Kyoukou, confirming her thesis.
"I think the same" nodded Yakouchuu. "Kyou, go with Oni. I'm gonna stay with Eru and Sabu."
"Take care of yourself" mumbled Kakeru, changing compress on Sabukai's forehead.
Onisakura left the tent, pulling Kyoukou's hand. They must find help! Otherwise, they can say goodbye to the winged and to the mental health of the youngest noctiluca.
They walked fast, looking around. There was no one, the forest seemed to be extinct. Eventually they hit its border. And they saw the girl picking herbs into the basket.
