Her girlfriend wasn’t much of a bakery and could only cook pasta; if she stayed by the boiling pot watching the pasta cook. So today her girlfriend and her are going to be baking. Her girlfriend was really hesitant in the beginning, but finally caved in and agreed to do so. Now they were organizing the ingredients that they needed for baking. Getting out the bowls, pans, spoons and pre-heating the oven.
While she was reading over the recipe, her girlfriend was trying to figure out how to pre-heat the oven. The girlfriend opened up the oven and looked inside, “seeing” if the oven was heating up. She just watched her struggle with the oven, watching her girlfriend’s face become confused when the oven beeped. She walked over to her.
“You press this button and then change it to the temperature you want.”
Her girlfriend whispered an ‘ohhh’ then quickly looked over the recipe to see what temperature they needed. She clicked a few buttons until it was showing the right temperature. Still confused about the oven, she opened it up again. She chuckled, closing the oven door and grasped her girlfriend’s hand leading her away from the oven. She scanned over the recipe, handing her girlfriend the things she needed to put into the bowl. Her girlfriend was looking really carefully over the measurements, wanting them to be exact.
“They don’t have to be the exact measurements. It’s okay if it's a little bit more, it’s not going to kill us.” She reassured her girlfriend.
Her girlfriend didn’t listen to her and started over again. She rolled her eyes, knowing that her girlfriend’s perfectionist side was starting to kick in. It would be a tease when they got to the decorating part. While her girlfriend was making the batter, she started working on the frosting. She has a big sugar tooth and wanted to put in a bunch of chocolate chips into the batter, but her girlfriend caught her everytime she wanted to add more.
So while her girlfriend was trying to get the sugar measurements right, she decided to take a handful of flour and blew into her girlfriend’s face. It covered the entire side of her face, making her mad. She completely forgot about the cup of sugar in her hand and dropped it into the bowl. She stuffed both her hands into the flour bowl and chucked the flour into her face. She was too busy laughing and didnt see her girlfriend arming herself with the flour. She happened to inhale a whole bunch of flour, coughing out clouds of it. Her girlfriend soon becamed worried, when her coughing didn’t falter. So she went to go get her a cup of water, quickly coming back and handing it to her. She drank all of the water, stopping the coughing.
“Sorry, you were being too serious. LIghten up, okay? No one’s going to critize them.” she reassured.
“You’re going to critize them.”
“No.”
Her girlfriend glared at her, both fully aware that she will comment on them later. She rolled her eyes and went back to frosting. Stirring and stirring till she thought it was good. Scooping up some on her finger, she tasted it and thought it was great. Then scooped up some for her girlfriend, who paused from stirring the batter to taste. She also agreed that the frosting was good. While her girlfriend was finishing up the batter, she went over to the cabinet and grabbed two plastic bags for the frosting. Placing the frosting into the bags, sealing them up; putting them into the fridge and returning to her girlfriend pouring the battery into the pans.
She went up from behind her girlfriend, wrapping her arms around her waist and setting her chin on top of her girlfriend’s head. She held her girlfriend, watching her pour the batter into the pan holders. When she was done pouring the batter, she scooped the rest of the batter onto a spoon and gave it to her. She let go of her girlfriend and took the spoon of uncooked batter. She started to eat it while her girlfriend took the other cooking items to the sink to wash.
When she was done with the spoon, she put it on the counter and carefully set the uncooked batter into the oven. Setting them into the middle rake and closed the door. She walked over to the sink and started drying the dishes that were being washed. Her girlfriend was whispering song lyrics to herself, bobbing her head as she sang. She started to sing along with her, but sang louder; encouraging her girlfriend to sing louder with her. She took the hint and started to sing instead of whisper.
They started singing and singing, leading to dancing around the kitchen. Making more of a mess as she tried to dry dishes as they danced around. Only letting water drip onto the floor. Eventually the girlfriend got out her phone and started blasting different songs. Until they both wondered back to the sink and finally finished up the dishes. Once those were all done, they went back over to the counter and got ready to decorate. She walked over to the fridge and got the frosting bags out, cutting a piece of the corner off.
“Alright are you ready to-
“Is that normal?”
She set down the frosting bags and walked over to the oven. It had started to smoke a little, she freaked out and opened it. Smoke came out, which led to the fire alarm sounding off. The girlfriend started freaking out and ran out of the kitchen. She opened up the windows in the back room, running back and opening up the other windows. While her girlfriend was opening up the windows, she turned off the oven and grabbed oven mitts to take out the over cooked batter. She set them onto the counter, seeing the steam come off them. She started fanning them, trying to cool them off as quick as possible.
Her girlfriend came over, looking concerned about everything. She grabbed her into a side hug, stopping her task of fanning and ruffling her girlfriend’s hair.
“Don’t worry they’ll taste fine.” she reassured
“But they’re burnt.” her girlfriend pouted.
“Well if we add enough frosting then maybe we won’t be able to taste the burntness.”
“You are your sugar tooth.”
She rolled her eyes, knowing she was right. Frosting could help the burnt cupcakes.
