I sat on the bed, I just sat for what seemed like hours looking into space. I could hear everything around me, the noises were getting annoying and the smell from my shirt still lingered from the bathroom. My hands gripped to form fists and I fell on my back. I watched the ceiling fan spin continuously, around and around it went. The cold air from it was useless to my frozen skin. I bit my lip and stared at the fan till my lips uttered, “stop”. It stopped then and there, the silence was nice, though I didn’t say stop just for that. This power, I thought to myself how overpowered this was. I spoke once more, “move”. It started moving as if it didn’t stop at all. Though that stopped and restarted everything around me, I looked at the clock clicking away on the wall, I thought to myself while looking intensely at it. Stop. It stopped, just that object. I kind of laughed in the back of my mind at it. I looked at the pillow on the bed and grasped it. I then flung it against the wall. My mind focused on the object and it froze much like the clock. I stood up and touched it, it fell to the ground, seemingly out of my control.
I imagined everything being frozen and unfrozen, continuing to focus on singular objects as well as ones out of my grasp. It became dark, my mind was still completely awake. I didn’t know if I should continue or lay down and see if this body allows me to sleep. I hoped to god that sleep for vampires was possible, sleep is a gift for humans. It’s the best thing. Back in college, I would hate waking up early for classes, but once that weekend came I was one to wake up late, not even having the alarm on. I laid down in bed and sat there, my eyes closed, I tried clearing my mind. For a while nothing happened, my eyes, my head, my body, all felt completely rested, not a hint of drowsiness.
I continued for a while, I started thinking about everything that had happened and contemplated on my next move. Just as I made such a thought a slight pain reined in my eyes. Images of people appeared. Vampires they seemed to be talking to that secretary. What is this, I thought. I couldn’t hear them well enough to understand what they were saying. They stopped their conversation and started running somewhere. Though such images left once I opened my eyes.
Minutes after my eyes opened I heard a knock at the door. I got out of bed and the knock got harsher and louder. I opened the door and those two men from my sight were there. They quickly dove toward me, grasping me. One man was trying for my head. Though such strengths and actions were nothing once I thought of the world freezing. I easily got out of one mans hold and grasped him. His head was rendered useless on the floor and the other man's body was broken, including his neck.
Such frozen time was released and the men were on the floor. It was quite obvious these were the two men from the images I saw not long ago. Did I see the present or..? What was this power that kept me alive and continued to do so?..
