I waited till my parents were asleep, which took forever because of the recent disappearance of my sister have kept my mother up all night. I climbed out my window carefully. I landed on the ground, the grass crushed under my black hightops. I ran to the house and stepped onto the path silently. The door wasn’t locked luckily so I got inside easily. It was as though people covered the ground with a new layer of dust each day, Every step I took made a cloud of dust form around me.
I walked around in each room till I came to the nicest one. I am not going to lie, I felt uneasy and scared. No matter how much logic I beheld ghosts still scared me.
The master bedroom was less dusty than any other room. It had a robins egg blue and gold aesthetic and was beautiful, far more beautiful than any room I have ever seen.
I opened the closet door to find it empty except for a lovely victorian dress. I heard a small creak sound from the floorboards and hot breath on my neck. I turned around and elbowed the figure in the stomach. The figure grabbed my hair and yanked me to the ground. I fell with a thud and sprang back up as quickly as I could. I punched their face, but they grabbed my arm and twisted it the wrong way. They twisted it to my back so my face was at the wall and away from them. A small black rage covered my face and black coated my vision as I passed out.
The last thing I heard was “Sorry Aida.” And I passed out. The voice was quiet, smooth, and deep.
While it only felt as though I was asleep for about ten minutes before anything happened, I was already in a very different room.
Well frickety frack, I got kidnapped looking for my probably kidnapped sister.
I tried to fake being asleep by shifting to lay on my stomach and wrap my arm around my face so I can have my eyes open. I can see off the corner of the table I sat on. It was like a game of 7-up heads up but I was in a lab room and instead of being tagged, someone stabbed my arm and leg with syringes. A light pain stabbed where they were hitting me. I listened quietly and watched from the corner. There were people passing me with blue scrub shoes, the kind nurses wear.
It was very bright in the room. And it wasn’t natural light. It was bright white light that hurt my eyes. Eventually someone talked.
“You know she's awake right?” Someone asks. The voice was the same that I had heard before.
“Yes I know. She can try to be asleep again I guess. I mean we kinda kidnapped her sister then kidnapped her so I mean fair reason right?” The voice was deep, smooth, and quiet. The kidnapper! Oh wait till I get my hands on them!
I could feel my cheeks redden when they said they knew I was asleep. I felt pure rage for the kidnapping thing. Why the frick would I get kidnapped? I am too curious and annoying for someone to deal with.
I felt someone tap my shoulder and I returned from my mind. “Okay so unless you're deaf, which you aren’t, you heard that we know you're awake so stop faking it I have a lot to tell you and this is boring waiting.” The first person said.
I sat up, and squeezed my eyes shut due to the bright light.
“Hi! I am Zeke!” the person said. He had a grey t-shirt with some band on it and black jeans. His eyes were dark green and his hair was black and short, the typical hairstyle you’d see. He looked like a normal teenager, a very bored normal teenager at that.
