Now, Wokor was raising his pink eyes to Liriak's face. The young lilac moth-man did not disengage his attention from the lone leader, as if he was trying to hide his distress at that moment.
“Yeah, rookie! You’re all good!" Qurnuk soon approached the two with a completely stupid smile on his face. "But Dallus can be a hard rock to crack! A true patriot who doesn't break! A big, powerful, magnificent, wonderful..."
Seeing that Qurnuk was already going into a speech full of nonsense, Liriak rolled his eyes in annoyance and soon revealed his willingness to move away.
Wokor showed no reaction to his lilac colleague's withdrawal, nor to the stupidity of the black-winged moth-boy. He just didn't let his eyes reveal any emotion from inside his heart, which only helped Qurnuk to finally stop inventing adjectives.
Seeing that he couldn't be funny enough for the novice, the Qurnuk sighed.
"Welp..." Qurnuk said disappointed. "Let’s just... join the others."
With a shaky mood, the black-winged moth-boy led the way for Wokor to follow him.
The young archer tended to observe many things at the same time, and not just with his eyes: like all moth-men, their antennae were capable of capturing the vibration of the local sound and even any passing scent.
At that moment, as Wokor walked alongside Qurnuk through the open corridors of Nathroryos, he analyzed the countless daily events that the Sacred Soil held: boys training with the instruction of female Warchiefs sworn by the High Priestess, blood rituals being conducted by priestesses as they marked the children's skin for the first time, and joint prayers taking place under the moonlight.
The Sacred Soil was a space for a completely curious transcendence to the eyes of the young archer.
Although his eyes did not reveal any feeling, Wokor was satisfied to belong to a place where his skills were valued, giving him the right path to be followed.
However, on the day of his rite of passage, he felt a much greater feeling of awakening in the depths of his heart. An emotion that made him lower his head and ponder for a few moments.
"Oh, no," Qurnuk said without stopping walking.
Wokor soon shooked the passing thought and raised his head.
"Dallus is facing Lunar Warchief Kamyph again," the black-winged moth-boy shared his concern with his new colleague. “Ugh. Every single time!”
The young archer quickly spotted the scene ahead, where a moth-woman - over six feet tall - grunted at the squad leader's angry expression.
"We’re goddamn hunters, for Sacred Soil’s sake!" Dallus gestured his indignation. "Isn't it enough that we sacrifice our lives to bring you food?!"
“Lunar Warchief, please,” alongside the leader, Liriak took a more peaceful approach. "We spare no effort in our duty. We are exhausted. Let us rest for a while and then we'll-"
"I don’t give a damn for what you’re feeling, you insolent children!" Kamyph roared over Liriak's speech, crossing her arms in a disapproval look. "The loaders are busy with other tasks and you just have to bring the carcass to us! End of story!"
"But this is-"
"This is what?! Huh?! " Kamyph tilted her furious face to Dallus, accepting the challenge. "An absurd?! Inhuman?! What excuse you’ll give me this time, weakling?!"
The Lunar Warchief was a pile of nerves at that moment, but Dallus still did not falter.
The squad leader showed great interest in bringing that fight on by facing his superior with all the hatred he could muster, but Liriak soon put a hand on Dallus' shoulder. With a disappointed face, the young lilac moth-man tried to dissuade the leader from taking that road.
Perceiving his colleague's touch, Dallus clenched his teeth so that the words would not come out of his mouth, and in distress, he turned his back.
Dallus must simpy say "This is a governance issue of utmost importance thatmust be adressed immediately and effectively for the continued existance of our sinergetic cooperation and satisfactory efficency in distribution of work and rewards." Slap a suit on him and it will work 100% every 13% of times.
xD
