The wind blew away cherry petals from Sachiko's grave. Shino looked at numbers on gravestone and shook his head.
"One life closed in two dates" he whispered, brushing his hair out of his face. "As if there was nothing in between. Complete emptyness, like in my heart. Oh, I'm talking to myself. It's not normal."
He decided to go home through the park. Then suddenly he saw some strange creature. The creature, which for sure wasn't a human. Humans don't wear long, white robes and don't have white wings and a shining halo over their heads.
"An angel?" Shino was confused.
For ten years he wasn't as surprised as now.
"Good morning, mister Hitohiyo Shinohara" said the angel. "I came here to erase you."
"What? Erase?" Shino was even more confused, but he didn't have time for this.
He had to jump back to avoid the ball of white fire.
"Oh, I understand now. So, what? The angels are evil and demons are bad? This world is seriously twisted."
"You talk too much" said the angel, making a sword out of fire. "Seriosly too much."
"You're starting to irritate me" said Shinohara, blocking the angel's blow with his bare hands.
And another one.
And another one.
And another one.
"Stop for a moment, white-winged idiot!"
"Don't be mad, you're going to die in a moment" said the angel.
Shinohara grabbed the flaming sword in his bare hands. This fire burned him and it wasn't normal. He didn't even know what it felt like. Until now.
"I've got you, little angel" he said, making the black flame with his hands.
"It's impossible" whispered the angel. "You are..."
* * *
The angel blinked. Sunlight was shining on his gentle face. Light brown hair scattered on white pillow. The angel got up and he realized that he's sitting in the bed. He turned around. He was in the room in the attic.
"Are you awake?" he heard a voice.
The angel trembled, when saw Akumarou, who was sitting in the armchair. Long, black hair fell over the shoulders of the son of Akuma. The black eyes stared at the angel intently.
Akumarou folded his hands and sighed deeply.
"Why are you scared?" he asked after a moment.
"Because..." the angel looked down. "You are Akuma's son. How couldn't I not be scared?"
"Oh, angel" Shinohara walked to the angel and grabbed his chin, forcing the angel to look at him. "You don't have to be scared. Have I done something bad to you? Have I hurt you? Have I killed you? No. If I would be evil, your family could probably start to search for a coffin for you, right?"
"I'm still scared" said the angel, looking into Shino's eyes. "If you are good, what I am doing here? You had to hurt me."
"It was self defence" explained Shino, sitting on the bed. "And you probably noticed that you're free and you can just go."
"But I'm frozen out of fear" said the angel.
Shino shook his head.
"You are an enigma for me" said Shino. "A complicated riddle."
"I'm not an enigma. I'm just scared" said the angel.
