A surge of energy suddenly surrounded Leon's body, which alerted both Rion and Disidias as they thought Leon to be half dead. "I.. I won't lose to the likes of you!" Leon bellowed as he slowly stood up.
Disidias stood in awe. Observing Leon, she thought it was just his final attempt, a stubborn effort to avoid death.
"The world... collides. I'll stay. The earth vanishes… I'll stay. From here, 'till eternity. I pray. Activate sacred rune!"
"Fuck! How the hell did he do that?!" Rion was sure that Leon just got infected not more than a week as his energy was unstable and weaker than that of Disidias. He was not even able to master the basics of Zeonai. 'Yet how did he manifest his sacred rune already?! What a monster…' Fear and uncertainty filled Rion as he shuffled and ran for his life, leaving Disidias alone in the battlefield.
"Master!" Disidias called out but immediately focused on Leon. 'I should buy time for Master to get away…'
Leon's blade got covered in blinding luminosity, masking the original appearance of his blade. Leon positioned his blade above him, causing Disidias to lose her eyesight due to it's illumination. Leon swung low as he screamed the words, "Light… Raze!"
A beam of light surrounded the place once more, even reaching Rion which were running away from the scene. "You'll never see the light again…"
Disidias felt a throbbing sensation from her chest to her stomach. She belched out blood from her mouth and onto the dry ground. "Where… Master, where are you…" Disidias crawled down the asphalt as she searched miserably for Rion, who was now lying unconscious a few meters away from the scene of the battle.
"What… happened?" Stellar, having awakened from her unconscious state saw Leon in his form. "How… You are not a vessel anymore, Leon?"
"Vessel? Meister? Renegade? I don't know which I am but all I know is I defeated these two. Can we get your powers back now?" Leon asked.
"A vessel is a term used for an infected human. Not all humans who got infected by the virus can manifest the sacred rune. Once they do, they'll be considered a renegade or a Meister which is not registered under SORA's jurisdiction."
Leon nodded as he processed yet another abnormal information. 'Why is there a need for this, when all she needs to do is extract the sacred rune and gain her powers back? Sheesh.' Leon complained in his mind.
"So, what should we do now? Deal the final blow?" Leon felt no sympathy for his opponents as he saw how ruthless they can be. He almost died and got his power stolen, now the table's have turned. 'I don't need to be kind to unkind people.' Leon coldly thought.
"I don't think we should do this after all…" Stellar hesitated.
"Huh? What are you talking about?" Leon inquired.
"I just felt that… it's wrong to do this…" Overcame with pity, Stellar lost her will to kill and steal other Meister's sacred rune. 'Was it my sentimentality? Or has my heart converted to that of a human as well?' Stellar thought somberly.
"I sacrificed my neck for all of these. All for the sake of this to be over, but because of your petty emotions, this whole thing just became useless. What a waste…" Leon said as he walked away.
Stellar only managed to cry. She realized how pathetic she's become. She slayed multiple of enemies before but why? Now that she could simply return to the life she lived for God knows how long, she now found it so difficult.
Has her heart really became weak? She can't remember that she was this emotional but her heart ached, so much that she felt it was aching for two people. She felt Leon's pain as well. It was their connection. And she was sure that Leon felt hers too. "Leon…"
Leon walked far away from the battle scene and left it all behind. "Damn it. For what have I done all of this, then?" He said frustratingly as he kicked an empty bottle of soda on the road side.
Everywhere he went, it was silent. The seal of place still kept people frozen in time. Making him feel all the more uneasy and pissed. The gravity of the things he did weighed heavily in his heart.
'Was she pitying the enemy? Or me? Don't tell me she didn't want to turn me into a cold-blooded killer?' Leon pushed his thoughts away. 'After I resolved myself into doing this, why is she making things difficult for me again?'
For Leon, it was a misplaced sympathy which made the whole thing meaningless. 'If I already hurt them to the point of almost killing them and gaining nothing, that makes this senseless murder. Besides… they're the ones that attacked us first.' Leon remained logical and tried to think things over.
'If possible, all I wanted was a brief negotiation… which never happened anyways. Argh!' Leon scratched his head in annoyance. 'What a pain…' He calmed himself down as he sat at the nearby bench for a few more minutes as he tried to cool off his head before finally deciding to return.
'Maybe she reached a decision by now…' Not long after Leon decided to go back to where Stellar was, he felt a strange sensation.
'Is this Stellar…? Is she in danger?' Leon thought as he failed to determine what exactly made him itch into action like that. He felt a sense of urgency, as if a magnetic force is calling him back or else someone might die.
As Leon rushed to Stellar's side, an unknown man appeared before Stellar and a blind Disidias.
"Lucky! Two Meisters with sacred runes!" A 6'6 foot tall man with white long hair, it's length almost reaching at his knee, stood before Stellar and Disidias as he waved his hands in a friendly manner.
He smiled as he looked over Stellar and Disidias. "Eh? Am I late to the murder party? You can finish her off now, I'll wait." The man encouraged Stellar to kill Disidias thinking it was more amusing that way, not knowing that it was not Stellar who managed to defeat Disidias.
'A Terror Knight?!' Stellar felt panic and fear as she knew she cannot escape this time around. With Disidias in a bad state, Leon absent and Rion and herself as human, how is she supposed to deal with this new enemy?
Cold sweat formed on Stellar's eyebrows as she pondered how to turn the situation around. 'It's better to buy time for Leon and distract him. I won't let him die because of me.' Stellar thought.
