Page came home ready to share her day with the gems and her older brother. What greeted her when she came through the door was unexpected. The gems were huddled around the temple door and it looked like they were trying to get it to open, without success. Every so often Amethyst would go into her room, and come out saying the back way into Rose's room wasn't available yet. Page was getting worried, if it had to do with Rose's things, it had to do with Steven. All she wanted to do now was get into the temple and help her brother. Nothing else seemed important. Her gem glowed and so did the white gem on the temple door. The door opened to a room of waterfalls, and Page ran into the room before she could be stopped.
When the door shut behind her, Page found herself in a room with what looked like five raised platforms that acted like waterfalls. The platforms were surrounded by a lake, and the whole room glowed with a soft blue. She stepped onto the lake, and surprisingly did not fall into the water. The flow of the water took her slowly to the center platform and the water reversed and took her to the top. There, a hologram of her mother took form.
"My child, you were created due to a vision, with my love for Rose and her love for Greg. I know there's techniques that you won't be able to learn from Garnet's training or from any human teacher, and that's why I created this program, to train you in what a Pearl is for, what I was for. Pearls are created to be servants, but in my quest for freedom, I became a warrior. A knight. Though Garnet confided in me that you will, or do, like eastern philosophies so a samurai would probably be the closest fit. Instead of working for Rose, I worked with her. We protected the life on this planet from those who would destroy it, and from the aftermath of their final attack afterwards, with the corruptions. If you are here, you need to protect someone so badly that the room thought you needed to learn your pearl powers and some martial training. Now, this room has a special property where time flows differently if it's needed, you can spend months in here and only hours will pass outside. and when you leave, your body reverts to the the ambient time. I'm going to need you to pull a pre-made holo in your gem, Pearl trainer. I have it programmed to not actually hurt you, but you may walk away with a few bruises. Fight it until it says training complete. Then I, this holo will teach you how to store and retrieve physical objects in your pearl, as a gem it has infinite storage space, I don't know if you being human will limit that, but there's a few things in there already, and you'll need them. So, let's begin, summon the training holo."
Page followed her mother's instructions and summoned the holo, it ran like the holo that Spinel fought, and the first five levels were easy to beat. The next few were harder, and took a few tries. The levels would get harder, and she'd take her time to beat them, but she found she would not need to eat, or rest much, during her fighting, and powered through until she beat the last program. It felt like it took days to get through, and in fact it did. The training holo dissipated and Pearl's holo stepped forward.
"You beat the program much faster than I had expected. My programming, has detected your previous need to protect is now over, but we should continue your training anyway. Now, we're going to start with retrieving items since there are things in your gem that you need. I put them there after Garnet told me of some of your preferences, so they should be more to your style of fighting. Find a comfortable stance to stand, and imagine the feeling of summoning your spear, but try to imagine where your spear is before you summon it. I saw a white space with organized sections of items, but it's your head space and you might see something different."
Page focused in on herself, and felt for her weapon, reaching for it with her mind only. When she opened her eyes, well her mind's eye, she found herself in a white room, not infinite like her mother described, but very large. There were racks and shelves lie a library throughout. on the far wall there was a white shelf with a few items next to a rainbow shelf full of spears. As soon as she approached the items, another hologram of her mother appeared. This one was simply there to explain the items left behind and what they would be needed for.
After being acquainted with the items , Page focused on the outside again. The Pearl holo then instructed her on being able to pull items out without going completely inside her gem. She practiced taking out a seashell and putting it back in. She got really good, and asked if there was any more training. When the holo replied negatively, Page was guided off the platform to the door, before it opened, Pearl let her know that she was always welcome to train in here at anytime, or take a few days inside the room if ever feeling the need for a break. Page exited to find her brother and the gems waiting for her.
The gems told Page that she was in the room for over an hour, and that the twins went in separately into the temple themselves. Everyone was hoping they would come out soon.
