Steven sat in the living room playing a golf game on the TV. The gems had gone on a mission, and his siblings were away at their own activities. He had the house to himself, well him and Lion. So, he played his game, and heard the warp on the Temple wall, just as he got the final hole, and the secret end scene came up. But Amethyst walked in front of the television and interrupted the scene, trying to show him the Wailing Stone they found on the mission. Steven kept moving around trying to see the special scene, while trying to politely tell Amethyst that she just needed to wait a little bit as he was busy. She wasn't listening and kept moving back into his way. He finally got fed up and yelled at her, then at the gems for not stopping her, and yelled out, in a voice that rattled the house a bit, that he just wanted a place to be alone and uninterrupted.
The gem on the temple door turned pink and opened up with Rose's symbol. A room of pink clouds laid beyond the opening. Steven walked though before the gems could explain anything about it. When the door closed behind him, the symbol closing like an iris, Steven took his time looking around the seemingly infinite room. First, he wondered why a bedroom had no bed, and a bed appeared. Once he realized what the room can do, he kept asking for weirder and weirder stuff, including a tiny floating whale, who cooed cutely upon arrival. Steven dismissed all of the things he'd asked for and requested a tv to see the final scene from his game, since Amethyst interrupted him.
Once he was done, he asked the room for a door out, and it manifested a door. When Steven walked out the house was dark, and the gems weren't there, or his siblings. He left the house and walked the beach. it was as bare as the house, and the waves moved as if on a loop, with a weird sound as they crashed. He walked into town, and there was nobody on the street, which made sense with how late it felt. The Big Donut was open and he want in to grab a snack. Sadie and Lars looked robotic and didn't move until he asked for a few donuts. but they repeated themselves. Steven figured something was wrong and went to find his dad. Greg was at the car wash, which was weird, and when Steven said he wanted to talk he invited him on the roof. Steven vented to his dad about what had been going on, how everyone was interrupting him because "gem stuff was cooler". Greg's comments became more erratic as the conversation went on, which unnerved Steven. The boy took a bite out of his donut and it poofed into clouds, and it was then he knew he never left the room. he jumped off the room and floated to the ground, then ran off to the house. The city started to go dark behind him as he ran and the whole thing started to freeze and glitch like a computer program. It then started to break down as he just made it to the house. once he got there the door opened again and he ran through it and fell onto the warp pad in front of the gems.
After explaining everything to the gems, Bismuth explained the room was never meant to create the whole town and that's probably why it glitched. She just reminded him to take it easy with the requests. But she also explained that the rest of the kids were in their mom's rooms as well, not as long as he was in but they haven't come out yet.
