Once they were gone Dexter sighed, “sweet freaking Jesus… do you know what you two have done? Okay, hold on. That’s not really fair. Do you know what you’ve freaking done, Yuji? What were you thinking doing that in public?” he asked, shaking his head. “I mean, come on!”
Yuji smirked, “hey have you not seen Akira? He is pretty freaking fantastic looking. Anyone would want to kiss him,” he offered, “Plus, I wasn’t really thinking, just doing. I’ll admit this was indeed all my fault in the situation that we are in to make him my girlfriend…” he said and gave a small smile, “though I can’t say I’m complaining,” he said, looking over to Akira and moved over, “If it is okay with you, it’s okay with me.”
Akira took a deep breath and looked over to Dexter and Yuji before moving to the edge of the mini stage and sat down. “I’ve gotten everything that I’ve wanted. I get to be a dancer on an actual stage. Does my contract still hold where Aeron… well, I suppose you, Dexter, will be introducing me to people that can advance my career?” he asked.
Dexter nodded, “I can do that for you, not a problem as long as you promise to hide your secret for the cameras and act like the happy little girlfriend,” he said, “if you agree to that, your contract will hold as it was originally written, minus the having to do what Aeron says. And if you can sing like an angel, hell I’ll give you his job too.”
Yuji laughed and looked over to Akira, “I’m sure he could sing in one way or another.” He laughed and played with Akira’s hair absentmindedly.
Akira looked over to the fingers playing with his hair and finally nodded. “Okay. I can do that,” he said, looking down at his feet for a bit, “I mean, it’ll be weird, but I’ll do it.” He gave a small sigh as he glanced at the stage he had just danced on and what it meant for him. “I’m just glad that it… wait… it wasn’t the whole girlfriend thing that got me this deal, was it?” he asked.
Dexter hesitated before answering, “Initially no, but I can tell you honestly, you dance wonderfully, you’re dancing is what got you this job.” He said, before moving over to his seat from before. “Okay, so now, down to business.”
Yuji sat down next to Akira and nodded “So what, a few interviews, maybe a few pictures together?” he asked.
Dexter nodded, “yeah. We need to come up with a reasonable story as to how you two met and wanted to start dating and all that shit. I advise you two get to know each other a bit better. You know, likes, dislikes, all that jazz,” he said waving it off, “which is why I will have you two rooming with each other, although it kind of works out with making everyone else believe that you two are really together.” He explained and chuckled. “Anyway, how do you two want to meet?” he asked.
Yuji and Akira started to think about it, neither answering for a little while.
“Well, why don’t we go with the truth? Part of it anyway, just a bit of name changing,” Akira asked, “I met him at a concert. Called out his name because I was a fan, and he answered on a whim because he thought I was cute.”
Yuji chuckled when he heard the last part, “Yeah that is something I can stick to.” He said and smirked, “thought this girl was smokin’” he laughed out loud before shutting his mouth when he saw the look that Dexter gave him. “Anyway, yeah I can go with that,” he said, trying to look a bit more serious than he had before. “We both got to know each other and I asked ‘her’ out and ‘she’ said yes.” he said, shrugging, “not that hard. Now we just have to actually get to know each other like that,” Yuji said, “Any problems?”
Dexter thought about it and finally nodded, “yeah, that will work. Close enough to the truth anyway. The only ones we have to worry about were the people that were at the concert.” He explained, “Honestly though, I doubt most of them remember anyway,” he mumbled and got up from his chair, “alright you two. Go out and show the cameras the rocker couple that has- on second thought, let’s get you two to the hotel and have Akira change, no use in blowing your secret two seconds after we figured out to keep it a secret.”
Akira smiled and nodded “Of course,” he said and looked down to his shirt, “Do you want your jacket back?” he asked, before looking back up and Dexter was gone. “I guess not,” he said and pulled it closer around himself so that they could leave for the hotel. “Hey… I just wanted to say thanks for all of this,” he smiled over to Yuji before biting his lip softly. He got up and waited for Yuji to stand before kissing his cheek, “you’ve been really nice to me,” he whispered, “I owe you a lot.”
Yuji smiled and looked down when he was kissed on the cheek as a thank you. He wrapped his arm around Akira’s shoulders and headed outside and into the extra town car that had been left for them. He motioned to the driver and let him know that they needed to go back to the hotel before switching into Japanese. “Got to love being bilingual sometimes, don’t you?” he asked, before smirking at Akira, “It allows me to talk to you how I want while keeping our secret,” he snickered. “Anyway. Um, I wanted to say- I wanted to tell you that, you were beautiful up there,” he said, “Like amazing. Did you learn how to dance like that in high school?”
Akira chuckled and nodded before switching himself, he blushed a bit, “thank you and yeah, some of it. I’ve been dancing since I was two years old or something like that. My mom used to tell me that I was dancing in the womb,” he said with a sad smile. “I’m glad you enjoyed it, to make people feel the song the way I hear it is all I’ve ever wanted to do with my dancing,” he explained as he looked around the town they were in as they drove through it. “So, where are we going?” he asked, looking back over to Yuji, “after I get dress, I mean.”
Yuji shrugged, “Where do you want to go?” he asked. “I’ll take you anywhere as long as I get to dress you, we need a little bit more rocker than what you have on now,” he winked at Akira.
