A surprisingly short amount of time during the journey was actually spent teaching X-87 the Mobile Storage Bay's control systems. Most of J-71's time was spent attempting to explain quantum physics at work to the War Fighter sharing the control room, failing miserably.
The near-constant arguments were finally ended at the sighting of the Labyrinth as they came over a mountain.
A towering megastructure truly fitting of the titanic size of the A-series, reached into the skies and across enormous distances.
"I still can't get over just how massive this thing is," X-87 said with justified wonder.
"A-01 continuously builds onto it when they are sure no one is watching. Apparently, they didn't build the surface structure higher up due to building material limitations." J-71 agreed.
"How are you going to find them anyways?"
"I will not find A-01, they will find me."
"I hope we won't have to wait long. My mind might wander to the War Fighters who have gone missing while trying to find A-01."
"A-01 truly despises War Fighters. They are genocidal. Every missing War Fighter can be assumed destroyed."
X-87 was truly stunned. "How... How could A-01 be capable of that?"
"A-01 has explained to me that they use a variety of traps including EMP devices and massive compactor rooms that activate on command. If you were to move inside, both of us will be dismantled." J-71 explained.
"Wait. Why would they destroy you?"
"They see the War Fighters as a threat that can only be solved with destruction. As a result, they see Builders who enter the Labyrinth with War Fighters as a part of the problem."
"I'm sure I can find an excuse not to attend this meeting." X-87 joked.
"I highly doubt you will have anything to do for the next 110 ticks," J-71 said as they set the ship to hover close to the ground near the entrance and started on their journey to the entrance.
“I was making a joke.”
“I am aware.” An uncomfortable moment of silence echoed within the control room while J-71 fiddled with a control panel. “I can detect no War Fighters in this regen at this time.”
“That makes sense. Since no War Fighters have made it out of the Labyrinth in all of that time they will likely not go in after A-01 until they have confirmed the destruction of every other Builder.” X-87 explained.
“I have prepared a simulation program for the purpose of giving you a better understanding of the Mobile Storage Bay’s movement functions while I am not available,” J-71 said, changing the subject. “Do not deactivate the simulation. If hostels approach you can use the window I showed you to get in contact with me and I will return with haste.”
X-87 started the flight simulator and immediately crashed the ship into a mountain. “Cool!”
“Don’t disable the simulator.” J-71 reminded before leaving the control room.
“Oh don’t worry. I wouldn’t crash the ship like that if it was real.”
“It would be massively inconvenient if I am forced to build another one.”
“Your concern for my safety is touching, Jay,” X-87 said sarcastically.
J-71 left the room and the ship without another word.
