Hi everyone!
I'm really sad to inform you that I've taking some time off updating in order to build up my buffer of pages. Also, lately I haven't been in a very good place mentally about this comic. I just can't seem to get more people to read it and it's starting to really getting me down.
I really love making Raedus and I put a lot of work into building up the world and characters. The worst case scenario would be to take down the comic from the net altogether. : (
So please, if you really like Raedus, help me spread the word! You are welcome to use any of the pages and promo art I've made to help promote it!
Sadly I can't give you an exact date on when I will resume updating, right now I have to focus on healing myself. I really hope to be able to be able to promote the comic even more once I'm back on track again!
Hey, I know where you're coming from. It's murder putting your blood, sweat and tears into a project only to feel you're getting nowhere. A lot of people have no idea how much time goes in to making stories and drawing them out bit by bit, or how much creators don't do for themselves in order to keep up the pace (go out with friends, take holidays, relax and have fun). We make a lot of sacrifices and invest a lot of time in the hope that the hard work will pay off one day, and sometimes it seems like that moment will never come. Like we're struggling on for no reason, or performing to an empty room.
That said (and I know this is very easy to say), try not to dwell on the hows and whys of readership. Make your story for you. This is YOUR hobby, like tennis or swimming. It's nice when people come to watch, but being watched is not all of what it's about. It's about you being happy. You started this story because you had an idea. You know where these hints and glimpses of secrets are going, and you need to persevere so that everyone else can understand it too. And when they do, they will probably go back and start right at the beginning all over again because now everything makes sense and everything they saw before has a much deeper meaning they never would have known unless they stuck with it. Hold on to that moment-- THAT is your goal-- the 'Yeah, you understand now?!' you get to share with your readers when all is said and done, even if only one person stands up and goes 'OH MY GOD, I GET IT!'. Like an elaborate joke with the perfect punchline.
Take a break, spoil yourself, tell the comic to get bent and ignore it for a while, do whatever you want. But PLEASE come back and finish what you started! I KNOW this is going somewhere and I really want to understand it as well as you do.
Don't give up! Get angry! Smash it! You can do it!
