Zella
Monday. We spent the whole weekend getting to know Alex. She was really cool. I can’t believe that the weekend was already over. Welp. After getting the girls up -we had a whole weekend sleepover- we rushed out the door. We were officially late for school when we heard the bell ring. I rushed inside pushing the other girls out of my way. What?! I love school as I said before.
We were about twenty minutes late and Mr. Butcherson knew by now we were late so we couldn’t just sneak into class. Lucky for us, we had an excuse. Alex. Since she's new she would need someone to show her around the school. OH SHOOT! Goody two-shoes Christine loved to show new kids around.
“Hurry up guys! We have to get to the office!”
“Ughh! Why?” They whined at me.
“Quit your whining. We have to get to the office because of Christine.” I drew out her name as if it pained me.
“NOOOOOOO!!!” The other girls shrieked and started darting down the hall.
“Who’s that?” Alex asked, trying to keep up with me.
I gave her a look of disgust.
“I'll ask later then,” she said after she finished giggling at the face I made.
I was so caught up in thought, I didn’t notice the wall in front of me.
“OUCH!!! MY ARM” somebody’s shrill voice screamed next to me.
Getting up I said, “ Are you okay? I didn’t mean t-”
I stopped once I saw who it was.
“Watch where you're going for once, Zella!” Christine fake cried very well. I swear, she practiced in the mirror perfecting it. Well, two could play at that game.
“Mr.Butcherson, I came down here to ask something. I honestly didn’t mean to bump into her. I’m sooooo sorry Christine.” I said in my sweet and innocent voice.
“You did so!” She hollered.
“It wasn’t her fault!” came a voice from behind me. “We were coming down here to see if Zella could show me around the school. Also hello uncle Billy.” Alex came from behind me.
I stood there with my jaw dropped.
“UNCLE??? This old guy is your uncle?”
“Kind of. I’ll explain on my tour of the school.” she sent a pleading look at the principal.
“Ugh. Fine.”
“WHAT?!?!” Christine started jabbering on about how it wasn’t fair but I didn’t hear it all because we were already walking down the hall.

I'm crying right now. For you to understand why I’ll have to tell you the events up to this point. I’ll be back.
(Alex's Computer)
I’m back. Let's just get on with the story.
I was able to get my uncle -the principal of the school- to let Zella walk me down the hall and not that girl Christine. I didn’t know who she was and why they didn’t like her so I decided to ask.
“Why don’t you like Christine,” I asked.
After a couple of seconds, she answered, “Her full name is Christine Sanderson”
She took a breath. I gasped inside. After a few moments, she continued.
“She’s my cousin.”
It took me a minute to process that. She was a Sanderson. Sandersons were dangerous so she was dangerous, right? Well, I didn’t think about it a lot and I took a large step away from her.
"Are you okay?" Zella asked as she stepped closer to me.
I took another step back.
My mind went blank and I ran. I found a place she and her friends wouldn’t think to look. You might think that I’m crying because I’m scared but that's not the reason. I was crying because I probably just ruined our relationship and I didn’t know what to do about it.

Alex wasn’t in class today. I looked all over the place before class and still couldn't find her. Yesterday she ran off. I had just mentioned how Christine's last name is Sanderson and how we were cousins. I felt her freeze beside me and I turned. When I looked at her I saw fear in her eyes. I was about to give her the hug she probably needed and she jerked back. She stared for a second and out of nowhere, she ran. I couldn’t move. No, I wasn’t shocked, mostly because everyone was scared of my mum and aunts. I couldn’t move because of magic. At first, I thought that she had learned how to freeze people but when I turned to run after her, there was a girl standing there.
“Just let her be alone for right now.” A teal mermaid said.
“Let me by. I have to go talk to her.” I refused.
“Leave her be.” She pushed me backward.
“Oh, you want to fight?” I nearly shouted.
“No just leave her alone for right now. She might need to be alone. By the way I’m Océan Bleu. (Those are my first names)” She told me.
“What does that mean?” I grumbled.
She smirked “It means Ocean Blue. Anyway, what is your name?”
I softened up a little knowing that she was only trying to help “My name is Zella.”
I looked up at the clock “OH SHOOT! My class already started! I’m going to be late!”
“Eh, it's fine. We can be a little late.” She said calmly.
“No, you don’t get it. If I'm late one more time, I’ll get suspended! Bye. See you at lunch”
“O-okay. Bye.” I heard her say behind me as I ran down the hall.
