Robbie and Sophie shared a room, and both woke up at the same time to Steven's rapping on the door. Synchronized in a very odd way, they both gathered their clothes for the day, Sophie in a deep blue sundress and sandals, and Robbie in a red tank and trunks, it was a weekend and they were taking advantage of it. The kids shuffled down the stairs side by side, and as always Robbie let Sophie go first into the shower. They had the same routine, wash, dry, dress, teeth, and since there wasn't school, they didn't need their wrist braces to hide their gems, so they just shined them up.
Breakfast on a weekend was a huge affair, with everyone around the table enjoying the food, though Spinel didn't eat too much, though her outside was stretchy, she never had much room inside for anything more than a few bites. Amethyst at her leftovers, and whatever else was on the table, complaining that Greg's rule about only human food at the table, meant her favorite condiment had to stay in the garage. According to her, nothing went with bacon grease like used engine oil. Bismuth had a large but normal plate, piled high with every spicy food she could find. Which left the normal full American breakfast for the kids and Greg, who all took rather healthy servings, Page grabbing a lot of fruit as well, her favorite being strawberries, Greg always said she was grown on them.
First they had sparring practice, which was mostly dodging the gems and their weapons, and trying to summon their own powers and weapons on cue, which sometimes worked, though Robbie was still frequently over balanced with his glove and would sometimes leave glassy footprints on the beach, and Sophie needed a physical weapon or object to freeze as she couldn't just summon ice. Steven was doing well summoning his shield and bubble, but was always exhausted after either one. Page would use her sand powers as a smoke screen, or sometimes roll in actual fog, which was new. Either way they had fun keeping out of the reach of Spinel's noodly arms and Bismuth's hammers. Amethyst always sparred on the kids side. At one pont they split off into teams of the kids and sparred against each other, Sophie and Robbie fought each other naturally. Sparked flew when ever Robbie would land a hit on his sister, Bismuth explained Garnet had electric powers, because of Ruby's heat and Sapphire's cold.
After Sparring, they had Pearl's lessons, which covered fusion, using Garnet as an example. The holo played like Page's Dream bubble and they could see original forms of many of the crystal gem fusions, though none had Bismuth or Spinel in them. Bismuth explained that Spinel was very new to the gems, and Bismuth had a falling out with Rose a long time ago, and only came back right before Steven was born. Robbie told her he was very glad she did come back, because she is a good guardian and a great teacher. Sophie reminded her sister that Ballet was about to begin and they needed to make it over to the theater for practice. Robbie and Steven went along so they had something to do, but Steven went to the library with Connie when the met her along the way.
At the studio, the girls dressed in their leotards, and started stretching. The teacher directed them through different moves, the Universe girls always one step ahead of the rest. They then decided to run through the five person teams for recital, the girls on the same team doing an interpretation of their favorite movie. their team had decided on the new Dogcopter movie coming out. and asked their teacher if Robbie could join them as a stationary character. She agreed and Robbie was roped into being Dogcopter himself as the girls danced around him pretending to be the rest of the city in chaos.
After practice the three of them met their brother at the library, then walked home. They stopped at the pizza shop to say hi to the twins, Kiki and Jenny, who always gave a mini calzone to the kids when they stopped by, just for also being twins, and the others got one as well since they were there. Nanafua made sure they were fresh even while Mr. Pizza grumbled about lost profits. The kids arrived home and sat for a Garnet video, this one specifically for the twins, as it turned out they could access Garnet's electricity without fusing if they held hands, but it was dangerous for their organic bodies, so they had to sit through a lot of theory.
Supper and reflection went by and the twins meandered up to their room. Greg tucked them in, even though they were way too old for it, just saying he promised their mom he would, and the kids were asleep before he ever left.
