Steven woke up to Lion's paw on the bed, which dropped the mattress so far the boy rolled off and onto the floor. Grumbling he picked himself up, fluffed the big cat's mane and went over to his dresser to pick out his clothes for the day. He decided on his standard red shirt and blue jeans, grabbing socks and tennis shoes only because the school frowned upon sandals in class. Walking downstairs he knocked on his sibling's doors to wake them up, he was always up before them, not having as strenuous activities during the week. He goes to the bathroom, hops in the shower and washes up. once dry and dressed, he brushes his hair and teeth, then shines his gem. He goes out to the table for breakfast as Sophie uses the bathroom next, with Robbie and Page lined up behind her. Bismuth is at the stove like normal, and asks how Steven would like his eggs. Once he answers, it's only a few minutes before there's a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon in front of him, with juice and toast as well. Sophie sits next to him asking for sunny ups and milk. Steven eats as his sister gives her vision of the day to the blacksmith, and Robbie and Page finish their showers and dig in to breakfast themselves. When everyone is done, the kids pile into the van with their bags and head off to school.

Steven starts he school day with math, which he's fairly good at, but gets a few questions wrong when the teacher asks for participation. After math, there's science and social studies before lunch. At lunch he sit with his siblings and Connie, the two friends talking about the study session they have planned for that afternoon, Connie having gotten permission to walk home with Steven. After lunch, there was English, Band, where he was in the strings section with his guitar, and theater classwhere they were working through common literary formats, finally there was homeroom, just to get early homework out of the way and give the kids some wind down time before going home. Steven took the time to clean his guitar for band and work on his monologue for theater. There was no track practice anymore, since the last meet had happened a week ago.

The two of them walked along the boardwalk and chatted about going to the library over the weekend, there was a bunch of veggies just about ready to harvest in the garden and the librarians gave them permission to bring some home. Steven suggested Sunday since they normally did Gem stuff on Saturday.

When Steven and Connie got to the beach house, Spinel watched them as they did their homework, while Bismuth and Amethyst dealt with gem parasites outside. The kids finished in time to play some video games for another hour. The other kids got home right before Greg had to take Connie home, just in time for Amethyst to come in and give the all clear from the parasites. The children had a quick snack before saying goodbye to their guest.

After supper, Bismuth recounted the day and the kids sat down on the couch for one last lesson from Pearl and Garnet each Pearl's lesson is on gems, poofing and reformation, and Garnet's was about weapon summoning. Steven could get his Gem to glow, but his shield wouldn't come yet.

Steven was first into the bathroom to change into pajamas, and was up to his room in record time, just to jump into bed with Lion still on it and snuggle into the pink fur and pass out.
