The four gathered their properties form the robot cabinets and started to slowly depart the shuttle. There were attendants everywhere, showing people in which direction they should go for their purposes. Tickets got checked on almost every corner the group took. Several attendents frowned upon the four when seeing their tickets, which stated they were part of a organisation that could freely travel between planets. Most of them were especially suspicious of why a teenager would be in such an orginasition. Sarah sighed often. She also still did not feel very well and she was uncertain whether she felt sick from flying through space or from being nervous for being suspicious to the guards. Just when they though they were able to leave the departure halls of the incredibly large 'Aeroport', as they found out they bumped into another direction assistant.
"Hello there!" He started cheerfully "Where are you guys heading to? I will help you on your way!"
The man had appeared so suddenly that Thomas feared to have popped his tail back out. He flushed red from being startled. He was a demon for Pete's sake! He was about to shout to the smiling assitant when a voice suddenly sounded:
"It is alright! We are here to pick them up!"
Two figures were waving either eagerly or desperately at the group. One of them was holding a form of screen, like they saw at the aeroport on Gaea. It had their names on it. Dylan quickly grabbed Thomas by the arm and pulled the complaining demon away from the assistant.
"Ah, yes, our friends are here! Thank you sir." Dylan said to the man, who was a little confused, but quickly resumed his duties to the next travelers behind the strange group.
They reached the two men. The one who had held the screen, pushed his hands together and the screen dissapeared between them. They smiled at the group. After coming closer, Thomas and Chloe started laughing.
"Panic! Bitter!" Chloe yelled in disbelieve. The two men laughed back at them.
"That's right, Scare!" Bitter answered. "How are you guys doing?!"
Scare and the person called Panic started to make weird shrieking noises of excitement. Bitter and Thomas gave eachother a tight handshake. Thomas shook his head in disbelieve.
"When you guys didn't come to the tavern anymore since a couple of years ago, we thought you had gone man, to the next world!" Thomas exclaimed. Bitter laughed histercially.
"Oh no, man, no no, we are not ready for that yet." Bitter had a strange accent in his English. He looked older, he had wrinkels over his face and grey hairs in his blonde coupe. Panic looked older, but acted much younger. He swung Chloe around in the air. He had a lot of live and mischief in his grey eyess. He had wrinkles under his eyes and a few grey strings in his brown hair. After some banter between old friends, Thomas and Chloe introduced Sarah and Dylan. The two men calmed down and sighed.
"Poor you, having to work together with this lot, hey?" Panic said. His grey eyes had turned somewhat grim, the hatred towards angels was clearly visible. Thomas shook his head.
"So far so good, I suppose." He answered. Panic looked at him in disbelieve, but decided not to continue.
"What names do you go by now?" Chloe asked them.
"Tobias and Panic is called Jeroen." Bitter answered, while guiding the group away from the departure hall with his arms. He started walking and everyone followed.
"Mind you, before you go outside and see how Dera looks nowadays. Please mentally prepare yourselfs for the changes since you were last here." Tobias started. "We are currently in what you know as The Netherlands..."
"Wait, we're in Holland?" Sarah exclaimed.
"Technically we are, yes, but it is a little different now." Jeroen answered.
"I never knew you were Dutch, Panic?" Thomas noted. Jeroen smiled.
"Yup! born and raised Dutchie! I was born in Enschede." He answered proudly. Thomas shrugged.
"I don't know that place. I know Amsterdam and Rotterdam."
Jeroen raised an eyebrow.
"So American of you." He said mockingly. "And you probably only know Amsterdam for the weed and everything else legally illegal."
Thomas smirked.
"Well... yeah"
Jeroen sighed.
"Oh well." He let out. "Anyway, back to the matter at hand."
Tobias nodded.
"Yes, for now you will stay with us for a while, for some training and getting used to the world as it is now." Tobias started. "Like I was saying, the world is very different now."
"The Netherlands has merged with Germany and a part of Belgium about 15 years ago."
"WHAT?!" Sarah let out a shriek. Tobias was a little shocked. "They actually did it?"
"Yes, there had been talks about the merge for many years before that, but when the Great Pollution started it set off what we call the The Time of the Overthrow, or just the Overthrow." Tobias explained. "It is when countries started to shift, people started to rise up against goverments, burned down entire parlements and so on."
"So how did they call the new merged country?" Dylan asked tobias.
"Well mostly we still defide the three countries with their original name, but it is "Het Verband" or in English the union or association."
"Wait, that's the name of a country?"
"Well... It is more like, you know, The European Union, kind of name."
"Does that mean that the EU doesn't exist anymore?"
Tobias turned to the confused group, they had reached the exit of the Aeroport. He smiled a bit painfully.
"It does... and in my personal opinion, that was a mistake." He sighed. "But... it is what it is."
He turned around and walked towards the exit.
