Amethyst had ran to go get help, she knows when she’s under qualified, not that it would have helped. As she was trying to explain to Garnet and Pearl what happened, and exactly 15 seconds after Steven’s demise, a glow came form his Gem, followed by a pulling.

His Gem exited his body, floating up in the air. A bright glow came off of it as it reformed, an echo of the 10 year old boy that had tripped shortly before.

The Gem quickly did a damage assessment, followed by running through it’s options. It’s final decision showed as a pink structure formed around the corpse, a transparent pink coffin. A few short seconds later the boy’s wounds seemed to close up, but he didn’t wake up. He really did seem like he was just sleeping, though the lack of breathing gave it away, this was just a preservation method. The structure grew duller as it gained permanence, even if the Gem were to be destroyed this structure will stay.

The Gem knew that it had to tell it’s father about the event. The coffin levitated into the air, and the Gem left, walking alongside.
