..."Hey Lucy, it's Mikki... Yeah, I know, it's been a while. I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday!... Yeah, you doin' anything special?... Oh that's great!... Hey! I know I always do this, but I was just reminded of the best story... I swear it's not even that long... Okay, here it goes...
... Timmy dangled his little legs off of a big armchair. He lifted his head and adjusted the strap on his party hat, then let his head drop again and let out a sigh.
"Hey! Who's making sad noises in here?" He mother said, as she tied off a balloon, "Certainly not my birthday boy!" She knelt down to her son's eye level and lifted his chin so he was looking at her.
"Hey, I know it's kind of a bummer that theres no body to come to your birthday party," She said gently, "But we can still have lot's of fun, just you and me!" Timmy smiled up at his mom. As lonely as he was, living far away from anyone who he could possibly call a friend, he knew his mother would alway be there for him.
Timmy's mother tousled his hair and pinched his cheek, "Who's my sweet little puppy?" She cooed. Timmy laughed. He jumped down off the chair and did a little dance, panting his tongue and wiggling his butt as if he had a tail.
"I am! I am! Woof! Woof!" He cried, running around his mother in circles. She laughed and patted him on the head.
"Well, I'll put on some music, and we can wait for the food to get here." She said and went to turn on the radio. She turned on the throwback station and the two danced to a bouncy fifties song. After a few minutes, the doorbell rang.
"Oh! That'll be the food!" Timmy's mother said, "While I go bring it in you get ready to really get this party started!" Timmy jumped up and down with excitement.
Timmy's mother opened the door, and was greeted by a small tribe of smiling children, all around Timmy's age and a few of them holding presents. "Hello Mrs. Wulfgang." The children said in unison. Timmy's mother smiled brightly and ushered them inside.
"Timmy! The food's here!" She called, and Timmy, who just finished shifting, came bounding into the room on all fours. He snapped his fangs excitedly and wagged his now very real tail.
His mother locked the door and with an elegant leap she shifted into her own canine self. The children screamed, but not for long, and even though there were no other little werewolves to share it with, it was still the best birthday Timmy ever had.
THE END
..."So, Lucy, what did you think?... Yeah, it is kind of sweet, isn't it? In a gory sort 'a way... Thank's fa' listening, I'm glad you liked it. This is why your my best friend.... Happy birthday Lucy!
