"AAALRIGHT! Students, sit down for your first lesson in Morphology!! You know me from the recruitment test, awright? I'm your humble Demon Lord of the Underworld, but you can call me Mr. Franklin! So aye, let's start!"
About Morpho Mons, and their forms
A Morpho Mon is a creature from the Morpho Dimension, obviously. They come in different forms and sizes, have different elements and skills. What they all have in common is that they can Morph into different shapes, depending on their relationships, emotions and other kinds of training.
There are 4 known stages: Standard, Super, Perfect and Final. Every Morpho Mon has access to Normal and Super without much training, the other two however require a lot of power and are usually not reached under normal circumstances or on their own.
Standard Form „Prior“
The normal form of an Unmorphed Morpho Mon. The most common Stage of all.
-Usually does not grow any bigger than 1m. Some specimen have grown up to 1.5m, but these are pretty rare
-They possess powers, but are compared to the other forms the weakest by far
-Sibling Morpho Mons can have nearly identical looks in Standard Form, but with Form progression, their looks and powers will change depending on their environment or their relationships
Super Form „Pergrandis“
An advanced form of a Prior. Stronger powers and more abilities. Can be reached by every Morpho Mon.
-Some growth compared to Prior is always given. The size itself varies a lot, but usually doesn't grow any larger than 3.0m.
-Their powers are the same as the Prior form, except more powerful and advanced.
Perfect Form „Bestia“
The Morpho Mon becomes a powerful beast, seen as divine in the Morpho Dimension. Their powers can cause natural disasters.
-They are always the largest form in size, no matter what
-Usually between 3.0m - 5.0m tall, but some grow up to 10-20m. The largest recorded Bestia Form Morpho Mon was said to be 500m long.
-This form is the most unstable, meaning its first Morph will always be determined by their state of mind, the environment, their relationship, and the situation they Morph in.
-This form has the highest physical strength of them all.
Final Form „Humanus“
A legendary form that only very few selected Morpho Mons ever reach. Always of Humanoid form, the Humanus stage is the most powerful and hardest to reach on their own.
-Most of them are standard "human sized", meaning 1.5m - 2.0m. Some can grow very large though, up to 3.5m
-Only a small number of Morpho Mons in the Morpho Dimension have reached this form and live in larger communities.
A Morpho Defender can help them grow and channel their energy. A special device with a so-called "Gem" can trigger Morphs almost instantly. But, as mentioned before – it still requires a lot of training and concentration from both the Mon and the defender. Usually they stay Prior Form because it’s the most practical.
There are many Morpho Mons of the same Prior Type, however, based on their experience, emotion and relationships, they can and will look completely different when Morphing. A Morpho Mon partner will most likely take on a shape of something or someone their defender needs. An insecure Defender will not get a Morph where the Mon turns into an offensive type.
The element of a Morpho Mon depends on both their Morphs and the place they were born in the Morpho Dimension. A Morpho Mon born in an icy region will most likely be using ice powers, a Morpho Mon born in a jungle region will most likely use plant powers, and so on.
Trivia and Facts
General Facts:
-Morpho Mons refer to themselves as Vitæ.
-Morpho Mons come in many different forms and sizes. The smallest being about 10cm, the biggest several hundreds of meters. Their size does depend on their Form - Prior, Pergrandis, Bestia or Humanus.
-The Morpho Mon can have the following elements: Fire, Earth, Plant, Water, Mineral, Air, Ice, Lightning, Light, Dark, Parasite, Color, Magic, Soul, Touch, Fragrance and Sound. Some Morpho Mons have two, very rarely three elements.
Soul:
Every Morpho Mon possesses a Soul. It allows them to Morph and defines the permanent shape of a state. It also defines the color of gem which can help them Morph more easily with the help of a partner.
The Soul makes the very core of a Morpho Mon. It also stores personality, memory, emotion and trauma. When a Morpho Mons soul is compromised, the Morpho Mon dies. While prior Forms to Humanus can die a physical death without direct harm to the soul, a Humanus Form Morpho Mon will only die when their soul is destroyed. This is something not a lot of creatures can easily do.
The soul is physically present in a Morpho Mons body, and its color matches the color of their representative Gem. The gem is not physically present until crafted with the blood of a Morpho Mon under certain circumstances. This is a highly complicated process.
Age:
Time and maturity works differently for Morpho Mons. A Morpho Mon is no longer considered a child if it is older than 400 days. A child Morpho Mon cannot Morph. They stay Prior Form all the time, growing only in size.
A Morpho Mon will live as long as their soul lives. The soul thrives from emotion, experience and bonds with other creatures. A Morpho Mon will die when it feels like its life is finished, unless it dies to other kinds of injury or disease.
Reproduction:
Morpho Mons have different sexes, but do not use sexual reproduction anymore.
Everywhere around their world are incubation stations. These consist of trees that grow egg-like fruit, that a pair of Morpho Mons can pick and fertilize with their DNA (usually a hair or saliva). They can take their egg or leave it on the tree, and a few weeks later, a baby Morpho Mon will eat up the fruit it has grown in. The type of Morpho Mon can be either of the parents, and is usually either random or due to dominant genes. This type of Morpho Mon reproduction is not limited to certain sexes.
