[Zephyr's POV]
I was staring into space. How could I shamelessly take back what I had already thrown away? In this case, how could I went to the front door of where that creepy omega that I had chased out of my life, clearly indicating that I didn't want him, and beg him to come back to act as my wife? It sounded so ridiculous and embarrassing! He probably would smirk smugly me and look down on me like he was winning. Wait. Can he really smirk with that dead face?
Anyway! No matter what I thought, here I am, right in front of my old apartment, trying to think of the way on how to make him help me fool my Granddad.
But, wait a minute.
Weren't we both in this together? He should be wanting to conceal this... fake relationship and acted like a real couple in front of Granddad, right? After all, Granddad paid him to be my lawfully wedded wife, right? Right? Why aren't you guys saying anything?!
"Not really," said the stoic omega as soon as I told him what I thought. I gritted my teeth in annoyance, a little flustered by the unexpected response I got from him.
I cleared my throat and started once again. "Wha-" Damn! My voice cracked. "Ahem! What do you mean by 'not really'? Surely you didn't want to let Granddad know that we didn't get along, right? You wouldn't want to disappoint the poor old man, right?" I glared at him, fully believing that the omega would feel a slight sympathy when I worded my words that way.
"...you try to guilt trip me?"
His expression was not changing as I expected, but his tone of voice clearly showing his disbelief. I shook my head in denial.
"I wouldn't dare! I just-"
"Weren't you the one that rejected me and chased me out of the house that was gifted to both of us as a wedding gift, ー in the middle of the night, nevertheless ー thus proving that you were the one that took the initiative to disappoint your own poor grandfather?"
I gulped.
"Unfortunately, I really did try to get along with you as a wife should, but you just dismissed my intention seconds before we signed our marriage certificate. Also, you clearly showed me that you didn't need me as your wife when you brought your girlfriend in my house, and pushing in your *beep* in her *beep*..." My eyes felt like it nearly popped out of my eye socket. Wh- what the-?! And he still kept on going. "...doing *beep* while *beep* *beep* *beep*-"
"O- okay! Stop!" I was sweating buckets as I watched the freaky omega calmly stared at me with a face that devoid of any expression. He tilted his head a little as if he was asking me silently whether he said something wrong. I massaged my aching head as I inhaled my breath deep into my lungs before slowly letting it out. Haa... Inner peace... Inner peace...
My eyes returned to his calm face. "Let me make this clear. What I did was not me cheating on you. To be honest, by marrying you, it could be considered as me cheating on her. Of course I didn't want to cheat on her. I love her! So, it's not wrong for me to stay loyal to her. What I did or will do with her is none of your business!"
"I don't really care," he shrugged.
I grunted in annoyance at his response. "So? What's the problem?"
"Your attitude is the problem. You discarded the things that you consider as your burden and keep on insisting that none of it is your fault. You had already disrespected your girlfriend and me when you married me and threw me away." The eyes that was staring straight at me was too direct. It was as if he was piercing deep into my soul, without giving me any mercy. My breath was stuck in my throat. It wasn't until my eyes started hurting that I realized that I stopped blinking as our eyes met.
I quickly looked away. Somehow, this male omega was scaring me. I felt uncomfortable. In any case, I really wanted to settle this immediately so that when Granddad arrived, he would notice that nothing was wrong between us. That way, he could go to get the treatment and hopefully, he would leave us alone. At least, long enough so that I could create a good reason to divorce this omega and marry the one I should marry, Vanessa.
I shifted my sight to his direction and collected myself while taking a deep breath. "So, what should I do to make you help me? Just name the prize. If it's within my capabilities, I'll grant any of your wish. Just, don't ask me something unreasonable."
"Is this the infamous cliche scene of every filthy rich characters in fictions?"
I frowned. "What?"
He ignored my question and spoke,
"One wish is all I need." The omega brought his hands to his chest and folded it in a very calm manner. I rolled my eyes, tired of his arrogant actions.
He squinted his eyes and continued, "Each time you ask my help, you owe me one wish. I won't ask something unreasonable, so you have to grant anything that I wish for, without any objections."
I stared into his eyes and kept quiet for a few seconds. He might be trying to trick me, so I needed to think of this very carefully.
"I won't ask you something like breaking up with your girlfriend or giving me your properties or something. I won't even ask for your money." He exhaled a single sharp breath as if he was insulted by his own words. "I'm not that cheap."
I nodded in agreement. "Okay. One wish." I quickly stood up from the couch and glared at him impatiently. "Pack your things. You're coming with me. Now."
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I straightened my shirt as I glanced at the clock on my bedroom wall. 10:30am. Granddad would arrive in any minute now. My eyes trailed to the omega who was leisurely sitting on the sofa near the balcony. He seemed too relaxed for someone who was about to fool an elderly. Unlike me, who was already sweating and half-panicking while counting down the seconds Jason would open the door and announce Granddad's arrival.
"He's here." The omega broke the silence as he saw a pearl white Beetle drove into the driveway. I also did hear the sound of tyres rolling on the gravel before the car stopped right in front of the front door.
"Shit!" In panic, I staggered around while searching for my phone and quickly went to the door. But before I managed to reach the doorknob, the solid wooden door flung open and slammed hard on my face. Due to the impact, my body was forced to swing backwards before my bum crashed to the floor.
Jason, the culprit was standing there wide-eyed for a couple seconds. Right after that, I could clearly see his shoulders shaking when he tried to swallow down his laughter. This guy really pissed me off!
"Pardon me, Young Master," was all he said to me before he turned to the male omega who was standing still behind me. "The Master has arrived."
The omega nodded. He turned his attention to me and raised his eyebrows slightly. I grumbled and stood up, fixing my clothes and walked out without saying anything. He quietly followed me from behind without making any sound. Then, I halted. I looked at him and held out my hand towards him.
"What?" he asked.
I rolled my eyes annoyedly. "We gotta look the part, right?"
He squinted his eyes and walked away. "Obviously gonna looks fake," he commented as he left me behind and walked down the stairs.
I clenched my hand tightly in anger before following him to the living space downstairs. Granddad was already in the living space with Uncle Brian. As soon as he saw me, his face brightened in joy. He opened his arms wide and gestured me to go to him. I chuckled and quickly ran passed the omega and hugged Granddad lovingly.
"Ahem! Not you, Zephyr." Granddad patted me on my back and pushed me aside. He once again opend his arms and gestured the omega to come closer. "An."
My face was heating up in embarrassment. "Granddad!"
"I hugged you for 26 years of your life. I've had enough. Now's the time for me to hug my beloved grandson-in-law. Come here, An. Give Granddaddy a big hug." He once again called for the omega warmly.
I glowered at the male omega sulkily and snorted in annoyance. The omega slowly kneeled in front of Granddad's wheelchair and hugged the old man with obvious self-restraint. Granddad laughed merrily and pulled the omega closer into his bigger frame and embraced the younger man happily. I rolled my eyes at the sudden loving display.
"How's your new life? Did Zephyr treated you badly? Should I spank him?" asked Granddad.
"Granddad! Of course I treat him well! He's my wife!"
Granddad ignored me and cupped the omega's face with endearment. "Well?"
I glared at the omega as a warning, but I had failed because he didn't even look at me. I saw Uncle Brian was keeping his eyes on me, so I quickly hide my bitterness and gave him the sweetest smile I could manage. He shook his head and turned away from me. I let out a relieved sigh. If you thought that Jason's naggings were bad, Uncle Brian's naggings were worse. Just like people said, 'like father, like son'.
"He's okay," said the omega with a calm voice. Hearing the answer that came out of his mouth made me feel relieved.
Granddad laughed. "Really? If he treats you badly, you need to tell me so that I could correct him."
"I'm fine," said the omega. Granddad nodded his head and stroked the omega's hair gently. I didn't know why Granddad seemed to love this kid so much. Probably he loved the kid more than me. If he didn't marry the omega to me, I probably thought that the omega was his secret so or grandson or something. The omega nodded his head and pulled away from Granddad.
"You can go ahead and get some rest while I prepare for lunch," uttered the omega.
"You can cook?" asked Granddad with an excited face.
The omega nodded. I furrowed my eyebrows. I thought that maybe he was going to fake his skills in cooking in front of Granddad to gain some brownies point while leaving the job to Jason. But I knew that Jason couldn't cook at all. Uncle Brian even banned him from the kitchen if Jason ever wanted to try to cook anything. I decided to stay in the living room to watch them prepare our lunch, just in case something funny would happen. Uncle Brian disappeared with Granddad to Granddad's room not far from the living area.
"Then, let me help you," offered Jason to the omega before they both walked into the kitchen.
I was left alone in the living area, with none of them spared even a single look towards me. Somehow, it irked me unexpectedly when watching those two acted close to each other. Since when did Jason and the omega became buddies? I feel left out...
